on my 95 gs i dont have a spot for my front liscence plate and i dont want to drill holes!! could someone tell me where they put there front plate with out drilling holes?? thanks!! pics would be great!!! :dsm:

The factory mount is a small section of bridge steel which mounts by those three screws under the top of the front bumper lip. It puts the plate up in front of the bumper, making a lovely chunk of crap on the front of the car.

I got a couple of rubber-coated harness clamps and used them on the power steering radiator. Only bother is that the damned tube has a kink in it, so one clamp had to go "up" and one had to go "down". The bottom of the plate is held by the lower lip of the bumper. It stands off the radiator a good three inches, so I don't think it presents a restriction to airflow- the bumper is shunting in more air than you need.

jk, But i wouldnt use it, maybe try filling your mouth with grill and then attatching it there, i dont want holes in my bumper.

or just tie it using thik wire to the power steering cooling line...
its old school but its free, and easily removable.

I hate texas, to pull you over they have to get behind you any way, why do they need a front plate then?

only for border crossings to run the plate before you get there, so pull the plate via camera before you get there and get rid of the idiotic plate...

(ps... I have never seen a Vette w/ a front plate, nor one getting pulled over for not having it either!)

You only need #14. The rest of it should be on the car. When you get it, mount it upside-down so it doesn't look so damned bad.

Many front bumpers have been ruined by dealers running big effing sheet metal screws into the center of the bumper.

I used insulated wiring clips to mount the top of mine to the PS cooler line. The bottom edge just tucks under the edge of the bumper. It has had no effect on running temperature out here in the Central Valley.

Because of the jog in the PS cooler, mount one clip up, and the other down.

thanks for the help dave99gst

btw
my mother in law has mulitple texas state trooper tickets for refusing to put a plate on the front of her 02 vette

i guess it runs in the family

hehe ^ ^ ^ Punk who won't answer my IM"s...

Anywho...yea for mine I don't have any holes? Maybe because mine is STOCK hehe. Mine just has a nut and a bolt that sticks out from the bumper in the center of the mouth. Like I said I just have it laying around I may throw it away :(

Does anyone have any options for mounting a front license plate onto a blitz style urethane front bumper... I don't want to block the FMIC with the plate... and I doubt keeping it in the front windshield is legal. I am in VA so I can't get around having one... Thanks in advance..

thats what I was thinking... maybe something similar to the Evo's... i was hoping someone on here could show me some pics of there's... we'll see... thanks again..
