Front License Plate Mount [Merged 6-7]

Back from the dead.

I want to mount mine offset to one side, but all of the homemade installs I have seen have looked not as clean as I would like.

With more and more OEM's offering optional offset mounting brackets, has anyone tried to make one work? Or the aftermarket ones? Some cars that come to mind are Evo X and STI. How do the curvature of their bumpers compare to a 2g? I wonder if there would be a huge noticable gap or if that is something I can just cut away.

Figured it would be worth asking before buying one and trying myself.

No kit here, just. About $4 and a trip to the depot ;-)
Though I need longer bolts to keep it completely off my bumper
