front case and oil pump questions.

Im putting together my 4g63t motor and have a few questions. 1st question is what type of greace do I use in the oil pump to prime it? And where would I buy it? 2, On the 12mm bolts that hold the oil pump together do I use thread lock?? and those bolts get torqued to 14lbs correct?? what would the best thing to use to hold the plastic freeze plug in the front case for the bse?? thanks

Here this should help with the install oil i used anykind, loctite never used, and no problems, torque to spec oil pump 29 to 36, front case around 14 is what i used, freeze plug i used jb weld.

I packed my oil pump full of vaseline so it would be primed on startup.

Alternately, you can spin the oil pump with a drill until oil makes its way up to the head before you put on the t-belt. That's what I will be doing this time...

Somebody else will answer I'm sure. This is not a smart ass question, but do you have a repair manual? All the specs are listed in it. If you don't have it why wouldn't you?

I do but I have it at my other house, I have 2 of them, im going to take a ride to pick them up

oil pump cover bolts, 11 to 13

should I use loctite??? and for greace for oil pump any specific brand or place I should buy it from.

The vaseline by your computer, next to the rags will work Just kidding. Any kind of vaseline will work. Thats what I use on every build I do.

And yes please use loctite. I learned the hard way on my first build. I didn't loctite the oil pick up tube bolts and a year later one finally rattled out and chewed up my bottom end.

I personally don't use locktite on the bolts except the stubby shaft bolt but thats just me, you can use locktite if you want though it won't hurt anything. And any type of grease should be fine its just there to prime the pump.

Its all on the net. I used loctite on every bolt, packed it full of vasoline, and primed it with a drill. Havent had an issue in over 5k miles and primed very fast with the vasoline causing a vacuum.
