Sorry to post this up here but apparently there's no Interior/Exterior forum.

I've been working on my interior for almost 2 years now. Between school and work, here and there. It's been quite some time and I'm tired of fiberglass, let metell you. So here are some pics of my center console/ gauge pod. It's primarily finished besides minor sanding prior to paint. Fitment is pretty good, doesn't budge a bit. When I get it painted, the primer colored area will be red to match my car, then allwhite will remain white, but with much better and glossy paint. I tried to resemble the 350z gauge pods to some extent. Hope you all like.. opinions welcome, but unless you've done interior glassing or have some to show off yourself, I don't want to hearing any bashing or rude comments. I worked very long and hard on this.

The back panels and seats are removd. I'm finishing up some soldering for LEDs. The wires are being a pain in the ass. Very tedious and time consuming. I will post pics of finished panels and LEDs sometime next week.

Also, I had some paint work done to the car while I was in FL for vacation. I bought a smashed Drift style bumper from Chris ([email protected]) and repaired it with some basic fiberglassing. Sanded it down, and even added some custom shapes to the vents. You may notice it if you have a drift or are fimiliar with their look. The bumper was mounted and painted, lower half of the car has had some spraying, wetsanding, and buffing. Basically, removing ALL orange peel from the previous Body shop. THat's about it for now. I plan on getting a carbon fiber front spoiler and hood sometime, but other then that I like the way things turned out. :thumb:

The paint looks good!

You need some wheels and some black 95-96 headlights to finish it off.

Are you keeping the interior white? If you are, it doesn't match anything on the outside.

please paint the interior something other than white when your done with it. install all parts ect so theres not alot of removing of painted pieces. (trust me i learned the hard way).

The comment on the headlights. don't buy new ones take yours apart remove the inner housings and orange signal cover. paint the outer section of the chrome housing black leaving only the small chrome backing original (its 2 pieces). sand the lenses and buff them with a real buffer and 3m compund. then you have identical to brand new 2gb headlights for like 10 bucks. The reason for not painting the little second chrome backing is because they reflect all the light. I would show you mine if i had a camera.

good luck though. ohh btw i had the same drift bumper when i first painted my car lexus red, then 1 week after i just painted it (shaved everything but handles, and molded in rear.) I started my car witht the clutch pressed in, but didnt take it out of first gear. then I went to get out of the car and it bucked so i immediatly went to hit the brake and hit the gas on accident OMG slammed in the back of my roomates car no more drift bumper. luckily i had an extra blitz laying around i painted it put it on and went on. that was embarrasing.

im not sure if i like the layout or not but it looks like top notch work. whats happening with the back of the console?

4U8HTRs, I am not changing the interior color. Other then paining what is primered now into a red, and using a high quality paint for extreme gloss. This is going to be more of a show car, thus the white interior. It may not match anything outside the car, but it will look much better once I add tints too.

Ill be buying the halo projectors and taking them apart to paint the housing a matching red. Same as the euro light in the rear.

The rear console is currently housing a 6x6" monitor. I put tape overtop of the opening because, well, all you can see is rugged fiberglass. For the time being it was the best fix i could think of. The monitor will be for passengers behind the front seats. Serves as an AAWESOME arm rest too. Perfect height for my arm.

Well the problem with that idea is all 95-96 projectors housings are all the way up against the lens theres no depth so they look cheap and funny.(will look like an integra):barf: the oem lights recede back behind the lens for a clean look. Im guessing you must really like red, because with red tails, red headlights and a red car its going to be a big red blob.

well whatever you do good luck. I hope the best to you. I'm not making fun of you just trying to help, sorry if i offended you in anyway.

It's cool dude, no offense taken. Opinions are welcome.

I see what you meen with the headlights but the projectors stretch from the bottom front up to the top rear. Should look somewhat like the corvette headlights. Witht eh rear, I'm going to black out the 3 circles left after the outer housing is painted to match the car.

Hopefully a CF front lip and hood will fix the red blob situation.. Along with the tinting and wheels..

yeah definately.

about the interior. I just could not live without my center A/C vents.

you did a good job fiberglassing the interior. Im not really into that style anymore, but can appreciate your work as i am really into carbon fiber fabrication. Are you still coming for the dsm day at my track?

Thanks, I appreciate the comments. You said at the end of July? I should be there. I'm trying to get some tuning done before I start running the car exclusively. I'm actually putting a "GS" sticker on my car right after I install the turbo, etc. Should be sometime next week or so. Thus the tuning needed vefore I hit the track.

If I do come, looking forward to meeting you. :thumb:

ROFL Looks good man, nice fiberglass work

Funny you say that because I've finally got my turbo kit together. I've got the internals and a 20G, FMIC, everything you need basically.

I haven't won any trophies with it yet because I haven't put it in any shows yet. Looking forward to it tho... Hopefully it will all pay off.

Awesome fiberglassing. I don't think the interior colors will look that great together though. That's just my opinion, but its your car, and what ever you think looks best you should go with.

Post some pictures after interior gets painted.

EDIT:Grammar

Not my style but at least it's for show. I think that since you're going with custom fiberglass you should also try to do something with the door panels too before you put them back on. I think that you shouldn't paint inside the headlights red though, I've seen tons of cars like that at shows and I personally hate all of them :barf: . Overall nice work though, the only shit I know about fiberglass is that it's bad for your skin :toobad: . The paint looks clean and with the turbo kit you'll have a nice show car with "show and go ". :thumb:

Are you going to be molding the pod to the dash? Is the Dash glassed or just painted? Looks good but I think it would look even better if it was blended smoothly into the top of the dash. I glassed my dash and molded a gauge pod into the top left of the dash a year or so ago and love the look of it. Props for doing something different than just a pillar pod.
