Is it worth it to try to build the block? or should i just nab the crank from it and scrap it? My friend owes me money and said he would give it to me.

You will be able to spool turbos so fast with that bottom end. and its worth it, its free? lucky im about to pay 400 for a full 4g64 longblock in running condition..

I have seen fully stock internal 4g64's boosted and destroying 4g63t's.

Well, from what i can tell its a LOT of work and bs. Plus the one im getting is a 7 bolt, the motor in my car is a six? Just not sure the outcome is worth the effort.

Well, i just got it today, but im not so sure i want to endeavor on this, i really dont have the time to do everything necessary to just to make it work, let alone build it. Anybody want to buy a 4g64? LOL

It's not hard....It bolts right up into your engine bay! And a 4g63 head bolts right up! Only thing you need to do is block off the 5 oil return ports in the block that are exposed to the elements with the head swap!

Dude seriously...DON"T pass up a chance to stroke that thing trust me!

But if u insist you can ship it to tn LOL

hah, if it were only that easy... first if all it doesnt bolt right up to a 1g, but it does in a 2g. Second i would still need to buy a ton of crap for it, custom pistons, DOHC cam gears, head gasket, timing belt, cams, ect... i will need more parts for this to run than i have in my 63 at the moment. idk, maybe one day, but i just dont have the time or money to spend on it. At the rate i have spare time between school and work, also factoring in money i can spend on this it would take me around 2 years to do this, and i would kill myself and be broke all the time doing it. :(

Yea not worth it unless you have a 2g. But definitely not hyped or bs, ask any real dsmer that has been for a ride in one or driven one. :rocks:

If you use the full block then u dont need custom pistons! just throw your 63 pistons on the 64 rods! and it does bolt up just use the 2g engine side mount and so forth

ik what your sayin though man

63 pistons will fit? I thought you had to get custom pistons. and how strong are the rods? I may be getting a second job to go along with all the crap i have to do as is, but that means i might have more money to throw at it. Im just dissuaded by my lack of knowledge about this swap. I dont wanna put the time and money in to this just to *&^% it up because of something stupid. I know i will need this stuff to do it. If you see anything im going to need missing please add it.

Cam gears & timing belt for 1994 Galant DOHC.
4g63T Head, Water Pipe.
4g63T Oil pump housing, sprocket
4g63T Hydro tentioner, pully, idler
4g63T crank timing gear
4g63T Pistons/rods??
4g64 Head Gasket

and i know i have to block the 5 oil passages on the block, but i have no idea how to get a CAS on this thing. It uses a Crank sensor instead of a Cam sensor, im not sure how to fix that problem. Also i dont think it has a spot for a knock sensor, it was dark before i got to check but i couldnt see one there.

And we happen to have alot of 4g63A's here in the local junkyards, can i use a head from that and just put the 63T cams in it? i was told they are the same except the cams, so if i could use any parts from those that would be helpful.

If ANYBODY with experience doing this would help me out and give me some hints that would be awesome. Im leaning toward doing this, especially if i get a second job, but i want to be as sure as possible as to what im doing before i get in over my head.

one thing you have to do is you have block off a couple oil passages. 4g63 pistons dont fit to small

yeah, i didnt think so, so i am going to have to get custom pistons, or use the stock internals, and i dont really see them lasting too long without oil squirters.

JE makes pistons just for this. 86mm and 86.5mm bore.
Send the block my way.... I'll take care of it.
Well, i might use it. Depends on how much help i can muster together, if i dont get all of the information i need ill prob sell it.
