I am currently working on a 1991 awd turbo automagic and not sure what fuel pressure regulator i put back on when I Did the head gasket. i have had over a dozen 1g's and still have a ridiculous amount of parts laying around, so it is very possible that I put a manual fpr on. I have been searching tons of threads and cant find anything about the physical differences between the two, all of the fpr's i have have the same numbers on them (denso 1382 h). I can guarantee the one that was on the car was stock this car only has 60k miles and has stack of maintenance records two inches thick since it was new, old lady owned. If anyone has any insight on what the differences are (aside from the pressure). Any help is much appreciated.

Have two sitting in front of me now one reads 8j22 on bottom and 2m06 on the other. I believe the 2m06 is probably the original one because it is so clean and not corroded.

I have seen many pictures of different fpr's and the ones with higher pressures seem to have more dished tops (pushed in, kinda like crushing a bov) this is just a theory but if that is true, even though these two look exactly the same with same numbers on I can see the top the 2m06 is smashed down just a little more than the other. what are your thoughts?

I will Try to get some pics up im not to computer savvy. but they look just like those but different numbers on bottom. i already came across that article, my thought was the same maybe different numbers for different years. I am going to see if Have some more different ones floating around my garage. also thanks bud for that article its awesome to have but it may be missing a couple.

so my camera is down for the moment and my phones camera is a huge pos, so no pics at the moment. i just asked my girlfriend to look at the two fpr's i have and she seen the difference in the two from a distance as far as one being slightly more dished in than the other. correct me if im wrong but the non-turbo fpr is way more dished than a turbo and rated at 47 psi.

If anyone has a fpr laying around off a 1ga automatic or any 1ga can you let me know the numbers on the bottom with what year and trans, or wanna do me a favor and pull it off you car real quick it would be much appreciated. thanks guys

I pulled the fpr off my automatic 1g, the numbers I have are

On top...DENSO 1960
Bottom...12K27

I am 99.9% certain that the car has never been modified before I bought it... The only mod that was done was a cut aircan (guy paid a shop to do it) I have a stack of receipts going back 10 years on the car...

Edit: I'm betting 1ga and 1gb auto fpr's have different parts number!

Double Edit: Bud I guess it's time to update that article now LOL

thanks for doing that, was hoping for a match though. I did not think there would be so many different ones.maybe i did just misplace the original but i still cant seem to find it if i did.

any more replys would be much appreciated

Hey guys, i just checked out what i have in the garage and had like 6 fprs.
Denso 1960 is the 1g Auto rated at 42.7 psi, same as i had on my car before
Denso 1382 is 1g manual rated at 36.3 psi
Denso 1262 is the Non turbo rated at ~ 47 psi
Denso 2490 is all 2g dsm rated at 43.5 psi (?)

Bud knows all about these fprs, he has an article as well on this :thumb:

Right but my article was also written with 1gb fprs.Which i had no idea was not the same as the 1ga..So were trying to get pictures so i can add them to the article,so in the future its just a quick search away;).

As soon as I get my auto fpr back, let a buddy borrow it, I'm going to be pulling the 450s and m/t fpr back out and putting the auto stuff back in...

Bud, I have (not installed waiting til I get everything I need) Evo IX fp, FIC 950's, ecmlink v3 to tune and wasn't sure if one fpr should be stronger than the other....

Meaning would a 1g m/t 37 psi fpr have a better chance of having fpr overrun rather than a 43 psi auto 1g fpr?

I've read the 2g fpr has had overrun with evo pumps but again, I have read that 1gs have a stronger fpr....

I would prefer to not need an afpr but I will get one if I absolutely have to kinda thing....

I have a completely stock fuel system except an Evo IX pump and a fuel pressure sender installed on top of the stock filter. My fuel pressure did not change at idle between the stock pump and the Evo IX pump, which means it's not being overrun. I have not rewired the pump, though.
