I'm THINKING about ordering a FP rewire kit off ebay for $20 shipped and was wondering if it's a pita or not to do on my FWD M/T tsi. Also wondering if I would be wasting my money buying the kit for running only 14-15 lbs boost on a stock car or if it's actually something beneficial for that modest boost in terms of preventing fuel flow problems. I'm also using stock FP with no plans to upgrade ever.

Highly recommended. You can build a kit yourself, but the FP kit is fantastic and worth the money IMHO. Well built and a snap to install. It will take you an hour at most, with most of that time being spent routing the wire.

I have used the ebay fuel pump desire and comes with everythig you need. Easy to install too.

The ebay kit is very good and I had good communication with the seller when I bought mine. Installing is not that bad, most time consuming part is soldering and taping/shrink wrapping all your connections - don't skimp on this part.

Keep in mind that a couple of the install articles differ slightly when it comes to connections at the relay - it doesn't matter which route you choose, just don't be confused as I was when I was looking for a backup info source.

I would recommend the fp rewire. I would also recommend going with the STM fp rewire kit, it a lot nicer then the eBay kit. Ive installed both kits, and the STM looks almost oem when installed. Either way do the rewire.

If you measure the available voltage at the battery terminals with the engine running you'll come up with a 13.5 - 14v reading. If you then head to the back of your car and measure the voltage at the fuel pump it will be around 11.8 - 12v, what happens to all the voltage between the battery and the fuel pump? The voltage drop occurs because from the factory our DSM's come with small gauge wiring going to the fuel pump that can't handle the high current, the fix is to wire in a 10 ga. wire directly to the pump. Most re-wire articles mention wiring it directly to the (+) terminal on the battery but in my personal experience I've noticed higher voltages at the pump after wiring directly to the alternator.

The stock 1g fuel pump before doing a re-wire flows 102 lph (12v) but after re-wiring it it bumps up the flow to 132 lph (14v).

Thanks guys, I just ordered a kit off ebay. My plans are to run 14-15 lbs on my stock tsi and want to make sure fp voltage isn't an issue.
