fp red cracks ???

hey guys i have a fp red turbo that i would like to use but it has 2 cracks on the exhaust housing, i was thinking out welding but then herd if you weld them they appear back in no time, so i then tried to find a new housing and i cant seem to figure out which one i need maybe someone can point me in the wright direction

Your Fp red came with an TD06 exhaust wheel, so you will need a hotside that is machined for a TD06 wheel, I recommend picking up an evo 3 hotside from FP and getting the housing machined, btw FYI, the evo 3 hotside's are more durable than the old cast iron hotside's because there are made out of nickel and are not prone to crack.

Correction- the Red uses a TD06H turbine.


....and you can't machine an Evo III turbine housing to fit the TD06H turbine. There's not enough metal there to be machined as the Evo III housing is lighter and thinner by design.

well fp want 300 bucks for a new housing and at this point if i cant find one cheaper i might have to weld it till i get some cash saved up, has anyone ever welded one and had no problems??

My buddy welded his a year ago and still works flawless.

If it's not too bad, I would run it. I have run turbos with cracked exhaust housings with no problems. As long as they aren't too bad.
