I have a stock 6 bolt. So the slightly lower compression might be letting me get away with a tad more boost than I might otherwise get with a SMIC.

I am using the HKS Super AFR to run my injectors. But I think the SAFC is better. There is more widespread familiarity with it and more readily available info. The HKS unit also does not have high and low throttle settings. At the time I got it about 5 or 6 years ago I liked the smaller size which allowed me to hide the controller in my glovebox (I was after a sleeper look). It was also adjustable at 11 different rpm points. The SAFC at the time had 8 if I remember correctly.

Some quick info if you go evoIII route (T28 won't net quite as much power but will be pretty similar) 450's are defently not enough unless you plan on only running stock boost. On the stock injectors I saw 107% injector duty cycle with my evoIII at 15 psi. If you don't plan on running more then 12-13 psi, your stock injectors should be enough but its never a good idea to run injectors close to their limit. People have maxed 550's out on the evoIII but if you plan on running lower boost you should be fine. 650's defently won't be overkill if your going to be running a resonable amount of boost. For reference I would see ~70% injector duty cycle with my evoIII. This was on 750cc injectors, running 18 psi (with cams or 22 psi without cams), tuned 10.5-11 to 1 air/fuel.

hmmmm something to think about....
sell the 650s and get some 550s or just stick with my 650s.... hmmmmmmmm
What if I went with the t-28, would the 450s be able to handle like 16-18 psi??

I do have 264/272 cams. Unorthodox cam gears. not like that matter but I thought Id just through it out there.

I maxed my 450s at 15 psi as well on my T28. I couldn't richen any more than -5% on the SAFC. I got 650s and was good until 22 psi.

On 650s saw 103% idc at 23 psi on my 50 trim. Upgraded to 950s and am seeing 64%. :D

I was, but it was a pain because I was using a logger and I just HATE tuning with a logger. But yeah the more airflow you have to hide with a safc the harder it is to get a good tune. DSMlink is well worth the money otherwise invested in a safc+logger.

exactly but I dont have 600 bucks to spend on dsmlink. Ill probably go with some 550s so I dont have to pull that much fuel out. so that means Ill sell my 650s so if anyone wants them let me know or put the word out. they only got probably 100-200 miles on them if that.

Do you have an eprom ECU? If so just burn a chip yourself to compensate for the 660 injectors. You won't even have to touch your SAFC.

I have a B16g with 660 injectors, i burned my own chip with the correct injector compensation and dead time settings and i'm running 22 PSI on pump with my SAFC zeroed out. (no knock).

Like I said in my above post, the T28 will have similar results to the evoIII so no you can't run 18 psi on 450's. Like I said I wouldn't go over 14 & this is on a stock setup. Running cams does most defently matter. With something such as cams, which effect VE the amount of boost you can run will be even lower (as you will flow more air at a lower boost level vs stock cams). Im just taking a guess but you probably wouldn't want to run over like 10 psi with cams & stock injectors. You'd need a logger to know for sure but that would probably be just about maxing the injectors out. Since you have cams & want to run 18psi I wouldn't think twice about using the 650's.

very very true. never thought like that. I think ill stick with my 650s and still get the evo 3. however with 650s and 190lph fuel pump, do i need a`fuel pressure regulator.

While the 190 will still technically over run the stock FPR, its not a big over run like the 255 will give you. Lots of guys run the 190 without a FPR, so you should be fine.

Right, Im still undecided about going with 550s or sticking with my 650s just because of tuning issue. I will be running 18psi of boost so I dont know

I don't see the problem, lots of guys run the 650's on a piggyback system. 550's at that boost & cams will/should put you in the 90% IDC range, which is never the best idea to run injectors close to their limits. 650's will give you that extra room, should be around 80% IDC :thumb:
