I searched online and couldn't find anything regarding this question although I'm fairly certain the answer is somewhere out there and I'm just not wording it right..

the FP manifold has a 7cm collector correct? and the 14b stock has 6cm housing... So I'm assuming there is no way for me to buy the FP manifold and bolt it up to my stock 1g unless I upgrade the turbo to one that has a 7cm housing or port my current 14b to 7cm?

thanks!

now I'm completely confused.. then why won't the evo III manifold fit a stock 14b turbo?

Who ever said that? It will have a bit of a "step down" and you will not be able to use the factory "ring", but no-one is using those rings anyway...

When using 7cm^2 (area, NOT a diameter) manifold on 6cm^2 turbo, most people just port their turbo to match the manifold, but it isn't obsolutely necessary.

hmm... Interesting.. I was going off the information from these:

An Evo III manifold is a 2G manifold with a 7cm collector instead of a 6cm collector.

Use the 2G manifold and sealing ring if you have a turbo with a 6cm turbine housing, and the Evo III manifold and sealing ring if you have a turbo with a 7cm housing.

If your turbo has a ported 7cm housing where the sealing ring lip has been removed, you can use either manifold as long as the collector hole has been opened up to the same diameter as the inlet of your turbine housing.

and this

Yes. And in addition, here's what happens when people use the sealing ring when they don't need it or it doesn't fit right.. This was a unported T28 with 6cm housing on an EVO III manifold. Skip to 8m 00s.

Many people on this forum are running fp manifolds with the 14b (myself included at one point) . Will it "fit"? Yes. Is it optimal without port matching? No...

Not Justins post in this thread. But I wonder if hes got a gasket to put on the two manifolds in the photo.

You Shall notice the difference in the gasket as well..But we mod things, if there screaming "mod us".

I cant be the only guy these parts say "mod us" to?
