Whats up guys and gals happy new years to yall.

Finally took the car on a road test after finishing up the auto swap. Using the forced four PLUS2 no TCU. Car feels like it is in 2nd gear at all times. Using the shift button I only feel it upshift to 3rd. And downshifts to 2nd.

I don't feel or hear it down shift to 1st or upshift to 2nd. So it leads me to believe I'm stuck in 2nd. Any ideas?

UPDATE: I had my daughter run through the gears on the forced four box while i listened around the trans. I do NOT hear solenoid activation from 1st to 2nd.

I DO hear the solenoid activate into 3rd and from 3rd to 2nd.

Check solenoid "B" for voltage.

I have a shitty meter at the house with thick leads. I poked around the 3 wires and found yellow is powered but orange is not with the shift box in “ 1st” i read your reply in a post about both wires needing to be “hot” in first gear.

Few questions.

Is that true?
Where does the voltage come from? Selector switch or shift box?

Thanks marty!!!

It comes from the shift box. It is limited in amperage draw but can handle the solenoids. I suspect it is switching transistors inside but never seen a schematic or had one open.
If you can make one out of 2 toggle switches then that says the solenoids use 12v.
Do you have OD? That would answer the voltage to solenoid B question.

Happy new year!

Bad "B" solenoid or no voltage going to it to activate it. Have you checked for voltage yet?
Here are a couple other shift box threads. One of your solenoids is not working for some reason.

Thanks for the replies guys so i figured out i had a bad or wrong toggle switch so i was not feeding my inhibitor switch aka selector switch. Fixed that now i can shift the trans 1-3rd mechanically “ratchet shifter” with stock shifter assembly.

However my forced four still only controls 2-3rd up and down shifts.

I may have wired it for ratchet shifter?
