Hey guys i installed an FMIC recently (mods GM MAF, MAFT, venting BOV)

the intercooler piping is 2.5" i did boost leak testing to 19 lbs and no leaks besides the vaccuum line that feeds back into the intake? not sure if its supposed to do that.

I have the stock t25 turbo.

My problem is, before the FMIC install i was spooling to 16 lbs. now im at 13 or 14 and my BOV doesnt make the chirp sound anymore and i cant figure out why it isnt spooling all the way.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated

Thanks, Mike

what fmic? you dont really have a big enough turbo to fill all the hard pipes and intercooler. Sounds like a pressure drop to me.

not sure. its a decent size though. had to cut into my bumper bar. I was assuming pressure drop but im hearing a weird flutter sound when i shift. im assuming thats the knockoff hks bov LOL

i only upgraded my intercooler before the turbo because i converted to the 99 front end and figured it would be a good time to throw it in before i painted it

That little T25 is really working hard at 16psi. Add an intercooler & larger pipes and it has to work even harder to support the size and flow of your new intake. It's a nice excuse to upgrade your turbo. :D

yesss just waiting on a good deal on a MHI 16g in the classifieds!

my biggest concern was making sure im not destroying my engine!

really?? where?

if your talking about the one for 250? i just saw it. and IM ON IT LOL

so i got the big 16g, havent installed it yet though. hooked up a digital boost gauge. now im reading only 10 lbs.

A digital boost gauge is probbaly as accurate as the stock gauge.I don't trust them,Mechanical only for me.

Put on the 16g,do a blt, and some boosting, and see where your at..Turn the boost down to wg pressure untill..You will notice more power with the 16g, compared to the stock t25.

now when i bought this car 3 years ago the vacuum lines were all disconected and there is a vacuum going straight from turbo to wastegate. how exactly do i redo the vacuum with the 16g being that i see no nipple on it just on the wastegate? and i have 2 hoses going into my intake tube. one comes from the valve cover, other i cant tell and when i do a boost leak test air comes through one (not the valve cover one) is that normal? also theres a vacuum line coming off the bottom of the intake pipe but its just hanging and not connected

and i have stock injectors so hooking up the 16g might be a bad idea.

ok on the 16g they dont have aboost source which is that nipple tour talking about you need to install 1 into the intercooler pipe and you want it close to the turbo so you get an accurate boost reading from that go to the manual boost controller then the other nipple on the manual boost controller goes to the wastgate thats all you do there there will be a hose coming from your intake that went to the boost sylenoid just cap that off as to going to your BOV just covering this to make sure its all hooked up right you want the line coming from your intake mani to the nipple on the BOV if there is 2 nipples only use the top 1 the small 1 leave open youll be fine

theres a bigger lines, almost like the one that goes from the valve cover to the intake pipe (before turbo) well the one that doesnt come from the valve cover, cant really trace it as it seems to go under battery or something. it leaks air as i do a boost leak test

If you only have stock injectors for now, hook up the wastegate right to a boost source so you only run wastegate pressure. Run a vacuum line from the wastegate to any of the nipples on the intake manifold. If you are saying air comes through one of the 2 hoses that goes to your intake tube then that is more than likely a good line to use for a boost source. Just follow the line and see where it goes to and if it goes to the intake manifold or anywhere in the intercooler piping then you can hook that line right up to your wastegate.

ok that hose goes to the charcoal canister under your battery it may have been taken out some people do depending on emmisions where you are like im going to be taking mine out very soon but pull your battery and the plate it sits on and youll see it right there

incorrect you do not want to have a boost source that far from the turbo you want it close to the turbo for accurate boost readings all the way near the manifold could have tons of leaks before that and will not be a suffcient boost source also MBC can be ran at low psi for now and stock injectors can handle 14psi saftely before upgrading them

I believe he clearly said he doesn't have a nipple on the turbo/j-pipe for a boost source. You are correct that it would be a more accurate source the closer it is to the turbo but he said he didn't have one so I am giving him an alternative. Many people have used a boost source from the intake manifold and while it may not be the ideal location it will definitely work.

i understand that it was posted that there isnt one avalible i posted that one will need to be insatlled and i just belive he should do it the right way now its pretty simple go down to a hardware store drill a holl in the pipe and tap it out and screw the nipple in with some teflon tape and make sure its air tight with a BLT also ziptie all of your connections to ensure they dont leak and then your allset

my boost source is coming from the intake manifold going to the boost gauge. but yes im assuming the line to the charcoal canister is the one leaking. how do i eliminate that leak? i put the intercooler in myself so i know theres no vacuums on it. i dont have emissions either. full 3 inch exhaust no cat :D

you should change that thats my suggestion but its your car and do a boost leak test once you fix that problem with the canister honestly no emmisions delete it all out of your car

i know you wont have a boost source on the intercooler you make one

heres the guide to delte it all http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/art...cuum-diagram-removal-1g-2g.html#post152901120

also some people buy the egr valve block plate or you can just do the coke can trick which is oull of the egr valve and trace it out on a flatened coke can cut it out drill the holes for the bolts and use some rtv and seal it up your literally clamping it in between so to block it off
