I asked this in the "Let's talk Ebay FMICs..." thread, but no one was answering because it's dead.

I bought this XOXO racing core a couple of years ago for my old project. I read good things in the EBAY FMIC thread about XOXO racing cores. After comparing pictures though, I am rethinking if this should be used in my project. I am planning on using this 18"x9"x3" core to run 18-19 psi on my "16G killer" IHI BB turbo. Does anyone have any input on the engineering of these tubes and/or if it shouldn't be used?

EDIT-
The link above isn't working for some reason, but it was simply a link to one of my gallery pictures, I think you can figure it out. I am inquiring about the efficiency of this tube/fin style FMIC or maybe the lack of.

The XS engineering turbo came with the car when I bought it two years. I haven't owned a car with a 16G or big 16G, but I can say that this car does do very well. Boost comes on very fast and it pulls hard until redline. That is with out any tuning as well. I don't recommend buying one new as the price doesn't justify it, but if you can get one cheap... that's another story. Then again, Big 16gs can go for cheap too. RRE did a write up on the "16g killer" that wasn't really positive or negative. It seems they had some good things to say overall. Read about it here.

I really appreciate the help.

XS Engineering for one. And we all know about XS Engineering and SS Autochrome as far as their turbos go. :toobad:

From the little bit I've read on it, it's just an IHI BB turbo with a Mitsu turbine flange. I don't remember where I heard it, but I seem to remember some vendor saying "It has yet to kill any 16g's." :D I think that pretty much sums it up. Unless you're getting it for significantly cheaper than an Evo3 16g or 50-trim, I really don't see the appeal of it.
