Just got a stage 2 daily south bend clutch. Just going to stick with my stock flywheel. Will a stock flywheel step height, which I think is .612, work with this clutch?

Or is it neccessary to have it machined smaller? I've read/heard .608 to .610 is good

.002-.004 is going to have a min affect on clutch engaugement.

If looked into, (FSM) you will probly find all of that is within spec

You would think that, but thats not always the case with DSM's. Believe the factory min is .608, my brand new ACT Streetlight was .606. I thought it would be okay, I was wrong. The clutch dragged at anything above ~5500rpm.

You should be fine with .610-.612

Stock is .612 but .608 to .610 is the sweet spot on a DSM flywheel, anything up to .613 should be fine though. Anything shallower than .608, as Daren found out, won't work...
