Ok i just got a 1997 eclipse GS-T ... got a good deal so it was supped up a bit exuast... greddy BOV... KnN airfilter...bunch of guages ...ok now my problem is with the BOV when I let off the gas it makes that stupid fluttering noise i wanna know how to change it to the stright out PFTTTTTTTTT because I heard the flutter stresses ur turbo. ok well im gonna give u guys a bunch of links to pictures of my engine i also have an oil leak  and wanna know if anyone can tell where its coming from , also if anyone can see anyother mods in the pics please let me know im a new DSM owner and wanna know if its overboosted or anything like that......... One last thing in the end i want my BOV to be decently loud if its safe and close to stock as possible.... THANK YOU SOOO MUCH IF YOU HAVE READ THIS FAR heres the links...! pic 1 pic 2 pic3 pic4 pic 5 pic6

I agree with the people who say fluttering is NOT compressor surge. You wanna hear compressor surge? Take the vac line off your BOV and neutral-rev.....THAT my friends would be compressor surge, NOT the BOV flutter...go head'...TRY IT. If the BOV DID NOT flutter, then you would have compressor surge because NO PRESSURIZED air would be relieved. Also, one more thing, even with the flutter at 3psi or whatever (crushed 1g BOV), that low of a boost level shouldnt hurt the compressor anyhow, right?

I hate to dig up dead topics, but at least it shows that I searched instead of making a new one.

I got the same problem as everyone else, GReddy RS with LOTS of flutter at anything less than 15psi. I have the set screw backed out to the point that its almost falling out. I keep trying to find sound clips of this bov, but of course they're all at full boost. Which leads me to problem 2... This thing is silent compared to my 1g bov. In fact I think a stock WRX bov is about as loud. Maybe because its adjusted too loose for full boost or maybe its because this stupid thing doesn't vent at all? I'm lost and this topic didn't help at all. Can we please get some concensus (sp?) about whether the flutter from an RS is bov noise or compressor surge???

Judging by the lack of replies I don't think that anyones cares.

But... It turns out my BOV was defective and not opening at all. VR gave me a new one and installed it. I still get flutter at low boost on full soft, but at least it's opening when it really needs to.
