99 Rs Making Noise Belt Or Gear (detailed Pics Inside)

Hi I am new to the forum and love my 99 n/t rs. I have a problem with my 99 eclipse rs. I bought the car Sept and it did not start making this noise until November. It happens every now and then when it rains, snows and on cold days. Even when I step on the gas hard I can hear the chirping noise by the gear slash belt area. There is a chirping sound and I pinpointed it at this location by the pictures. Can someone please tell me what the problem may be? I know this is not the timing belt it is the regular belt am I correct? Is it the gear itself or the belt I should replace I have seen some rusting by the screw that holds the belt as seen in the pictures below. Please help me and how serious is this problem? That is your power steering pump in the picture. There is also a tensioner pulley and the A/C being turned by that belt. So it could be any one of them making the noise, or the belt itself. If you could post a clip of the noise it would be easier to tell you what it could be.

-Check to see if the belt is worn ( cracks)
-Check to see if the belt is loose. Push down on it in an area where it isn't supported and it shouldn't deflect much. If it is tighten it. You should be able to see the tensioner pulley.

One thing you could do is take the belt off and spin the pulley and if it makes the noise then you know what the deal is. Removing the belt is pretty simple. The tensioner just takes a lot of time to turn with a wrench. You could throw some wd-40 on it ( without the belt on) and see if that helps if it is the pulley.

I take it the radiatior cap burst and got coolant all over the pump? The belt getting doused in coolant could be what is causing it to slip.

yeah i would check the belt to see if its in good shape and i heard u can clean it with soap just in case you got dirt or oil on it some how...my gst dose the same in the cold so it might be you just got a loose pulley.

Thanks for the suggestion guys I will do what was suggested and I will post a video of the noise to clarify myself. Also nothing was ever douched with coolant I was just given that arc radiator cap as a present so I added it as a little flavor to the engine bay. I now have another problem. The coolant is now leaking could it be because of this? I have pictures below can someone help me out with this problem as well? It is leaking right below the black thing going into the radiator can this be the reason as well why my fan is always going on by my radiator? The wet surface is where the leak is dripping from. Someone please help.

well that could be getting on ## belt and causing the squiking i know that auto part places sell a compound (its like sand) that is use to seal radiator leaks from the inside...try getting some of that and put it in your radiator run your car for a bit and it should stop the leaking if not make sure the radiator hose isn't ripped...let me know how it goes.

That sand is called stop leak and they sell it in tabs or powder and I don't advise you use it unless its a last resort. As for the belts, they look hella glazed it may be time to replace them. +1 on the tightening. My ps belt was loose and caused a loud chirp under your conditions. I tightened it up as much as possible and it went away.

Sarted leaking after cap change , hmm change it back . Take hose off where they connect at the coolant elbow there . Clean off fittings without letting the crud fall into the coolant . Reattach the hose .

Hmm not really sure how long the leak has been going but it could have been a while. As for everyone suggestions should I just buy new parts instead to replace the hose and the thermostat ps belt? Its about 40-50 bucks altogether at jnztuning? I will have this fixed by my mechanic who is a 2g fanatic as well is going to check it out and fix it. I will get back to you guys when I fix it. I don't know if it is my cap but it does fit the same as oem could that have changed my leak? This leak just happened this sunday when I was driving I pulled over and opened my hood and it was making that chirping sound and I see liquid has been splashed as well.
