I have a 1990 Mit. eclipse GSX. has the flip up headlights of course. the front left headlight does not flip up when you hit the switch but will come up if you pull it up by hand and will go back down after you turn them off. i dont understand. any info will be helpful. i didnt see another thread with this info so sorry if this is a repeat. thanx

Mine does the same thing. Do they go up when you hit the little button? Take a test light or a multi meter and disconnect the plug going into the headlight motorand test it for power when you hit the little button or turn the lights on. If you've got power then your motor is bad. That is most likely your problem anyway.

Mine used to do that . Go up but , not down . I took off the trim and sprayed wd40 all over the hinges . They work fine now .

well i can see the red knob on top of the motor spin when i press the button and the light tries to come up but just cant. looks like its stuck..so i sprayed a lot of wd-40 on all the hinges and joints that i could find for the light and it still doesnt work. i dont know what to do.

the light goes down when i press the button to turn them off but when i turn it on, it doesnt go back up.

also, can you give me info on how to make them low so they look aggressive?

aight...well last night i messed around with the left headlight, turned the red know until i got it where i wanted it. then unplugged it. as soon as i tried to close the hood, the head light went down..it wont stay up...LOL. everytime i get it up to where i want it, it wont stay up, it just falls. i think the motor is bad like you said. but instead of buyin a new motor should i just rig it or something so it will stay up?

im going to see what i can do.

Also check to make sure that the little ball joint rod is poped into the side of the headlight housing or make sure its moving correctly an not getting jambed or nothing. You can also just spin the red knobs an get them where you want and pull the relay in the fuse box an call it a day an have it look to something like this like soemone stated above =).
