Fixing up a 1.8L engine,

okay, i know this thing is pretty much the bottom of the barrel in the DSM world, but the damn things been sitting in front of my house for a year and its breaking my little heart.

Got the head completely removed today, It shattered a rocker arm last summer and is gonna get fixed up, hot tanked and decked.
thank god for non-interferance engines.

I oughta get a cherry picker and have someone do the same with the block and just clean everything out,

Is there anyone else thats done this, anything else i oughta look into?
cars a 5spd, and always shifted smooth as glass.
too much work to do a 2.0L swap, just wondering if anyone had any nuggets of wisdom to share on the idea....

i think there was a guy on the board who modifed a 1.8 with a turbo. If i were you i'd do the swap (its not that bad) or i'd sell it. I used to have a 1.8 and those things are slower than hell. They don't make many performance parts for them so everything you do is going to be mostly custom.
