Hey guys, my name is Tim. Just got a beater laser from my grandpop about 4 weeks ago and the engine went. Trying to get her back up and running since gas is over 3/gallon now and 6-7mpg in my other car is not cutting it.

I'm looking for a 1.8L engine for my 1990 Laser. I'm new here so I can't post in the Classified.

Hmmm. they seem pretty common here in MD junkyards. I would check your local ones. You could just do the 4g63 swap... once you go turbo you never go back. But it sounds like u may already have a race car (6-7mpg).

What happened to the engine? you might be able to fix it cheaply depending on what it is.

Just call local SMALL junkyards. The ones that get cars for free. You can probably get a good running motor for $100-200 or even less.

I wouldn't call it a race car but yeah. I just want this to be as simple as possible. Thats my problem I have called countless junkyards with no luck. I was hoping someone on here would know of a Junkyard about south eastern PA or actually have one for sale. Thanks guys.
