wats up im new to the dsm world i have a 93 talon dl and i was wondering if there are any parts out there that would allow the ccar to get out of its own way with out doin a 4g63 swap i want to keep the 1.8L and what is the 1.8L called?

and what is a good exhaust the doesnt make the car sound like a weed wacker gone mad?

thanx for some odd reason i thought it was 4g39, n i was hearin the 2.0 heads fit too but im not sure do u kno where i could find tat out?

yea i was gonna do that but the 4g63 engine i got has three stripped head bolts on it i cant em to get loose. so the motor is startin to get buried in my garage u kno of ne triccks to get the bolts off ive tried like every thing other than drillin em out

last time i had to pull a 2.0 head i got one of the 10mm hex head sockets and within one bolt i shattered the cast socket part so i put my impact 10mm socket and my breaker bar on the hardened hex head and they came out. as for stripped ones try an easy out or if you plan on replacing springs and valves weld something on to the head of bolt.

so take it to a shop before i get mad n take my big hammer to it right LOL

theres this 4g37 pushing 123 hp n he says he only spent like 500 dollars on the car the dudes name is boost92

the stock hp for our cars is 92 hp so if he is saying he got 30 hp out of five hundred he must of got a steal on some parts and done the the labor himself. i guess you could take it to a shop if you can afford it. me personally id go buy an easy out.

LOL yea that is true

### would happen if i put 2.0L injectors/ruel rail in my 1.8L would it jus flood the engine ?

Yes, the additional injector flow will cause your car to run extremely rich if it starts at all.

headers bro.. the heads are completely different, hence the different engine code.. But Im not even sure the headers will fit.

Use the turbo manifold from an 86 Dodge Colt, which bolts up to the head. Then you can also add a turbo the the car.

What about an eBay intake and a good air filter? Might not get too much HP gains, but at least the little extra whoosh noise will make you think so!:thumb:

Yeah, there isn't much you can do with the 4G37. And correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't the 1.8's ran with a Timing Chain? And I don't believe there is even an imaginary way to get the 2.0 head on the 1.8 block. The head from the 2.0 puts out more HP than the entire 1.8 engine.

Just get yourself a good intake, do a bit of port work, and have fun. Those engines are weak but damned near indestructible. Great on gas as well.

They are belts.

They are belts.

You sure? I can't remember from when I pulled the 1.8 in my first car. I just dropped in on the carport concrete and started swapping in the 4G63. Lol.
Either way, they're reliable little engines, just not really on the performance side of things.

no and no

headers wont fit (or else you wouldnt hear so many 4g37 horror stories of ppl looking for colt manifolds for turbo projects), heads can't swap, sohc vs dohc.

And yeah they're ran with a belt.
They're basically a sohc honda motor in terms of the way they're set up, although the honda motors have a lot more potential.

the 4g37 is absolutely pointless to mod, being a 'pioneer' is not worth it. The fastest 4g37's are in the 250-350whp range and have a lot in them. 250-350whp 4g63 cars are everywhere.

boost92 is an idiot was proved to be an idiot. he posted saying he made 123whp, and the shop his 'dynosheet' came from posted on here that he never had his car there and his whole story was bs
