Keep your head up mate! If I were you, I'd get the balljoints done first. Because this could happen:
http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/han...t-didnt-mean-blown-balljoint-pics-galore.html

I took mine to a mechanic to get them done and with parts and labour it came out to $270 I believe. Granted, mine is a 2g. But I figure it's a ballpark estimate.
Or you could do it yourself if you know how!

That's kind of all I have to offer. Is it your daily driver? Because if not, just take it in stride. If it is...then just take it in stride ;) But this place is a GREAT resource to guide you along your way!

Good luck!

More importantly, WHY did you buy this vehicle with these known problems and now saying it's too much for you to handle?

Deffinatly get the repairs done and all of your maintenance.

in case you didnt know... it happened to me too.. it turned out to be a recall.. check around and youll see.... it got fixed for free...

I was under the impression that it was a lifetime recall, like the transfer case. I was waiting until the joints on my GS got a little play in them like last time and I was going to try to take it back to the dealer again; now it appears I'd be wasting my time.

What's funny is nobody seems to mind that all of the transfer case recall hullabaloo can be avoided if you check the oil in the transfer case every now and again.

To the OP, get a service manual and take your time. Try to find a used steering rack so it won't cost as much. At least your problems are all in the same area. You have to take apart the wheel assembly to get at the power steering so when you're doen doing that you can move on to the ball joints. When those are done you can move onto the struts.

ball joints are replaceable. moog makes them, and they have grease fittings, so they should last near forever. better than an oem one, and i would rather spend the money on a greased joint rather than get a free recall done.

i would get rid of the car if i was you. if you're strapped for cash and the car is a POS you're never going to get ahead on it, as shit will just keep breaking.

there's a transfer case recall??

Yes, the xfer case is known to leak. A sign of a leaking xfer case is oil on the underside of the car thrown from the drive shaft.

It's a 1 time recall/VIN. Being a 90 I'm sure yours was already done but if it does leak, it's only a couple seals.
