Got my datalogger in yesterday and did a few 3rd gear pulls with MMCD on the interstate. I only logged INJD, RPM, KNOCK, TIMING and INJP being Im a newb to it. Im only running stock boost till I get used to the whole tuning thing. I tried to load my log but still no luck on figuring it out. The software CD that came with is garbage and doesnt explain dick. So ill take a stab in the dark and see if you guys can help me. Im apologizing in advance for the lengthy post. On my first pull everything looked good until 6200rpms I saw 7 counts of knock with 31* of timing. By the time I ran it out to 6850rpms I hit 43 counts of knock. I was running a little rich in the upper 6krpms. I saw 10.5 when the knock started so I leaned it out a little. 2ND pull I nailed the the
NO KNOCK rule
for 1g's all the way to redline! I saw 1 count at 3 spots but nothing more than than. I got my timing down to 25* but isnt this still too high? How can you pull timing with out LINK, Jackel or Ostreigh? I have never tuned before so everything is new to me. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks Jared

Also my base timing at idle is 10*

Make sure all your sensors are wortking correctly.. under WOT in boost the timing maps on both generationsof cars have much less timing than that (IIRC they are about 21 and 24* respectively) but you shouldn't hit timing that high unless you're in cruising throttle openings, then that timingis perfectly normal

at 4500 RPM and lets say 12-15% TPS you should have about 32* + timing, but at the same 4500RPMat WOT the OEM ecu should only be giving you between 9 and 15* timing, then it should slowly add timing on the wya to redline until about 21* or more is shown (often times the knock sensor never lets timing get that high though)

You also shoudl be able to attach the logs just like a picture is attached, or at least that is how the DSMlink guys do and it works on my haltech logs which are microsoft excell format of .csv
