First gen transmission swap with a Hyundai transmission

So I'm just wondering how many people on here know you can take the transmission out of a Hyundai and attach it to a first gen Talon, Eclipse, or Laser motor

Hyundais used mitsu drivetrains in the early years. People have turbo hyundais too. Quite a few things interchange.

Know what I'm saying is you can take the transmission off that Hyundai, the one that has the same Parts number as your original block from the first gen Talon. You have to put an all wheel drive clutch in all wheel drive motor mount on the passenger side all-wheel drive turbo shift brackets the slave cylinder from the Hyundai and the longer throw out pin for the slave cylinder we had to track down, that's how you stick that transmission off the Hyundai into a 91 Talon

So let me pose this question to you, if I can put a 4G63 into a 2002 Lancer oz rally. Goodnight be able to hook that transmission up to and put it into the same engine Department

Hyundai and mitsu have had a parts interchange for a long time, especially in the late 80s/early 90s. I'm running Hyundai cylinder heads on a couple of my cars. I wouldn't be surprised if they had several transmissions that would bolt up with only minor/visual differences

Meet a couple friends did it 10 years ago it took about a week to figure out all the Mansion components but like I said a 91 Talon 2.0 I stalked an all-wheel-drive stage 2 turbo clutch turbo all-wheel-drive flywheel turbo passenger side motor mount and turbo shift brackets the slave cylinder from the Hyundai Sonata and the longer throw out pin draw attention purposes it turns into a 1st Gen with a 2nd gen turbo transmission but if I can do that can I then also hook it up and stick it in and Lancer is my question more pacifically the O2 rally

This is a DSM forum. Not a Lancer forum. Lancer motors of that year are on passenger side. Completely reversed from a DSM. I own a Lancer also. No you can't use any trans that bolted to a 91 Talon.

Okay let me simplify my question, has anybody put a DSM first gen motor into a Lancer? I know all the math, I know that transmission works with that motor. Is there anything that actually says that I can't fit that motor into that engine compartment, cuz research says I can stick 4G63 motor into it. So yes it may be a Lancer, but it's going to be all Talon motor assuming I have the room.

So can anybody tell me if my first gen 91 Eagle Talon motor, with that other transmission stuck on it which takes up the exact same amount of space as the original Talon 2.0 manual transmission. Now a 01 through 06 Eclipse manual transmission is a DSM, along with the 4g63 DSM motor. So do my first gen motor and transmission combo which is the same size as the original transmission inside the engine compartment, take up the same amount of space as a 4g63 DSM with a 01 to 06 transmission.

Now if you take the Lancer out of the equation altogether, it is solely a DSM question. Do those two DSM components put together occupy the same space as the other two DSM components put together, I'm DSM all the way but if I can stick some crazy shit nobody's done before. It's my back water hillbilly asses responsibility to do so. So I asked directly based on your knowledge of this Vehicles Motors and Transmissions. Strictly on the math do they take up the same amount of space, because if they do I will have the first. Hell if I get bored and it takes up the same amount of space, I would stick it into a Pinto station wagon.

Now it's just too big to fit in there that's a different story, thank you for your time in this question.

I guess I'm not following what you're wanting to do...

1. What Lancer do you have? (Year, submodel etc.)

2. Are you wanting to use a 1g 4g63 in this Lancer?

3. Are you wanting to use a Hyundai transmission with this 1g 4g63?

If you're referencing the 2000-2007 Lancer (non-Evo) with 4g93/4g69 engines, then I do not know for sure.
Is it possible? With enough money and know-how, yes.
Is it reasonable? That is in the eye of the beholder.

Are you the first? No, I've seen a couple swaps over the years and it's all in the details. Many small things are different and create roadblocks that you can't anticipate. I can't (and don't feel like) searching for the threads for the swaps, but I do recall reading them in the past.

There was a 2002 Lancer with a 4G63 in it, it's called an EVO VII. Quite a few differences from the OZ Rally version of the Lancer.

Before the question is asked the Evo of that year did not match the 4g63 from a talon. If you want to try anything in a 2002 Lancer I would suggest an Evo motor. Is it bolt in? I don't know. I doubt it.

I'm going to be blunt.

The fact that you're asking these basic questions suggests you have done little to no research and are likely not qualified to do the swap. If you happen to be a skilled fabricator then I'm surprised you are asking the questions in the manner in which you are asking.

If fabrication is required it would be the same as trying to bolt the parts into any car with the possible exception that some parts would be dimensionally compatible with that platform since it shares design with Evo 4 and newer. Likely closest to Evo 8 and 9.

I have a 2002 Mitsubishi Lancer O-Z rally. There's more than enough documentation for a 2.4 l conversion with an EVO head, I'm wondering if that combination has already been done.

That engine and transmission combo the 4g63, I know with that conversion I have to make a custom motor mounts and do interior s*** to the engine and head. But if those take up the same space as a first gen 2.0 liter and transmission, I already know how to stick that transmission onto that motor I did it 10 years ago. But if they're the same size on both Motors and Transmissions there's no reason I can't stick 1st Gen motor into that Lancer, I've just had no luck trying to find out if they both occupy the same space in the engine compartments.

That's all I need to know, is the fear attics on whether or not both Motors and Transmissions take up the same engine compartment space that's it, and help you give me in figuring this dilemma out for be greatly appreciate it. Otherwise I'll just have to go with the 2.4 liter, but much rather have a first gen
