Ok so ive decided to go and purchase the 91 talon. Ive ruled out the head gasket being blown and thinned it down to a timing, fuel, or electrical problem. Anyway here is what she's doing as of right now: misfire misfire misfire. How it manages to stay running is beyond me. The idle bounces around a bit but it will misfire in all rpm ranges on what sounds like all cylinders. At around 2500 rpm, it smooths out but still sounds like a mild misfire. This thing is very tempermental. Oh and before I forget here are the compression test numbers:
1--120
2--120
3--118
4--122
It's really low but its even across all four. Wtf?? It smokes a little but I blame the eBay crap turbo on that. I start the teardown tomorrow and I'm going to start with getting replacing the timing belt and balance shaft belt. Retime the engine and get the cas spot on. I would still like some opinions as to what is going on though..help is greatly appreciated!!!
.

Sounds like it could be a timing issue as stated above and the valves, valve seats, or stems may be damaged. What color is the smoke? Sounds like it has several issues and won't be fixed after just redoing the t-belt.

You didn't get this car from an older fella in Greeley did you? If you need a hand, I might be able to stop by. Depends on where you're at :thumb:

Who did you get it from... I might know the owner... I might be able to confirm timing problem..
Im sure I know you..red talon, dc sticker, cf hood LOL. I think there are more issues than just the timing bro. If it jumped a tooth and even slightly tapped the valves..well let's hope it can be fixed
