yea the LEDs can be put in anyway im pretty sure.

Anyone know of a write up for 1G HVAC controls and such? anyone??

LED's are definately directional, there is a positive and a negative.Hooking them up in reverse will fry the LED.

Off topic: Jaybone, it says that you have a '95 GS-T, but I see in your sig that the door handles are black. Did you do that or is it an RS in your sig pic?

Does anyone know where I can get blue replacement bulbs for a 1995 talon TSi gauge cluster?, I have ones, but they are too big?, I not sure what the right size is?

To get rid of the film you can just lightly sand down the back of the guage, the orange film will slowly fade off.

Be careful not to go too far because if you sand too much, u may remove the black colouring; making the guage a little clear in spots.

I tried the blue bulb thing after i took off the orange film.
It didnt work either. Instead i have a black guage and the numbers light up white with a very very very very faint hint of blue.

you can get those colored lightbulb condoms to make the blue color even deeper. it might show up even better then. i found them at walmart.

colored lightbulb condoms ... i found them at walmart.
What are the actually called, and who makes them?

I really dont feel like going up to some old woman working at Walmart and asking her where to find the lightbulb condoms :p

Maybe its just me, but i dont see them taking me seriously

just go to walmart and look in their automotive section and look on the shelves with all the interior/exterior lights and bulbs. they're gel color covers or something like that.

so which swithces do you sodder into the circuit board and which do you add the wire to the green illumination (+) wire and the black (-) wire...thanks.... BTW i know this is my 1st post and it's in kinda a ricey post, but i'll post up pics of my car when i'm done with this so you can check out my ride..... i've got all the supplys just waiting to see to what ones are which so i can finish

Wow, I just want to say thanks to Jaybone for starting this post. I just got done reading it and it looks like it helped a lot of people.

Anyway, I just finished my HVAC and cig, i am still working on ignition ring and guage cluster lights. My question is for the HVAC and cig I just took the old bulb out of it holder and put the LED down in it with the legs spread apart so they would maintain contact soldered my resistor inline and everything is working so far. I see that most people were gluing the LED in place and not using the existing bulb harness. Is there any specific reason or should this work just fine?

Thanks for all the help guys:thumb:

When changing your HVAC, cig.lighter, keyring, etc, you dont need to do any soldering or anything. You can get LED replacemnt bulbs that just pop into the existing housing. They are #74 specially pre-made LEDs with their own biult-in resistor. You can even get them for your dome lights etc, those ones have 4 LEDs on their own circiut board. I do make kits for 2G DSMs for every interoir light modded to LEDs. Even comes with tamiya model paint and etc for proffesional look. But anyways my point of this post is that is do not waste your time putting in resistors and soldering in LEDs, just get some LED replacement bulbs, and pop them in. Glow perfect, last forever. If you want some pm me, or if your luckey find some online!:thumb:
