LarryD most likely just changed the bulbs behind the cluster.

notice the dark/light spots? leds were used (with resistors inline if you've read the post) but the problem with leds it from factory they are focused. This can be helped by shaving the top of the led off and use some polish to un-haze it.

please, please, please can this thread just die? it's almost as big as the old GM MAS/Maft thread.

I did mine a while back, every switch and every bulb, Ive also changed a few other things though. These pics are about a year old. The last pic only shows 2 apexi guages, It is a 3 pod pillar, I just didnt have my last guage in there at the time so I cut it off. Also the on/off cruise switch is now blue too.

Are you ever thinking of compiling all this info into a tech article? I know it would be a lot of work, but we would all be happy.

Thanks,
Boz

btw, i bought some blue 74 LEDs from superbrightleds.com to see how they would work.
I tried one in the cig lighter and you can hardly see the light, even with the dimmer all the way up.

gonna try shaving the top down to see if it improves.

hey u guys, i need some feedback form u guys i just bought some LEDs off of ebay to do that wholel console light blub switch...hvac, cruise control etc.... There was green, blue, red, the blue looks really nice, cuz the car is stock with orange, and it already looks redish... but i have a black car, with red street glows under the car, and 2 10'' red neon lights where the feet go, so i went ahead and bought the RED ones to match everything else, u guys think it will look nice or wil it look just like the stock orange ones, since orange and red r very similar colors...too confused, blue wouldnt match my car after all the red lights

I have tons of things to put on that I plan on taking pictures of and making articles for, including face gauges and blue LEDs in the dash. I'm currently on vacation in Cali though, I'll be back to put all the stuff on next week, and can have the articles in about...2 and a half weeks.

I changed the light in the HVAC to blue, as well as the lil bulb in the cigarette lighter. I got it all hooked up this morning, both were shining nice and bright. I soldered the wires and heat shrinked it and taped it. I put the HVAC back in the dash and cupped my hands around it to see how good it looked. Everything was working fine. When I come to look at it during the night, I turn the parking lights on, and then they go out, as do the interior lights... The 15 amp "taillight" fuse under the hood keeps blowing. I would like some advice as to what could be wrong, how to figure out what is wrong, and most importantly, how to fix it. Thanks..

please lock this damn thread. you wired something wrong if they keep going out. (drawing too much current to that fuse)

its going 2 years cause after a month of being pushed back someone says something stupid/pointless and brings it back. there hasnt been any useful information posted in this thread in a long time so i dont know why they dont just lock it. its a continuous cycle... someone asks a question thats already been discussed but is too lazy to read through the posts and it just progresses to gets longer. then repeats over and over

ALRIGHT for anyone that still has ANY questions regarding this thread is super retarted....YOU NO LONGER have to sit there and solder LED's (if you do your a dumb ass and need to be beaten)...Here is your solution and quick fix to this MOD:
http://autolumination.com/leds.html
They have the exact bulb replacements you would need and they are LED's....They even have more colors then RadioShack. I know re-killed this thread!
