I know there have been many posts on this subject, but after tons of searching I could not find what i was looking for. I know i want to change just about all of my interior lights to blue, like all of the switchs and climate control knobs and such and the floor lights...if anyone has done this, does anyone know the resistor values for the resistors i would need to change the LED's or have any tips on how to go about doing it...

I have blue LEDs behind all of my factory switches using the LEDs and resistors in the above methods. The only problem with that is the red heat indicator on your HVAC panel will no longer illuminate. Since little things like that bug me I found an EL (like aftermarket gauge faces) HVAC panel that had everything blue that matched everything and still had the red for heat.

For future reference, here are the parts and numbers from Radio Shack

330-ohm resistors... Part #: 271-1113
5mm Blue LED 2600mcd... Part #: 276-316

i hate to bump an old thread, but this pretty much hits it right on the dot.

i am looking to change my interior lights to blue. I read that it was like 30 bucks and i promptly got the part numbers for the lights and resistors. How ever i was unsure on a few things. First off, how many LEDs do i need? the radio shack i went to only had 3 there. So i have to order them off their website. However, i was unaware as to how many i would need to completely redo all my interior lights.

I have a 2g eclipse gst, so i do have the rear window switch to account for, but, could anyone please tell me how many lights i need? And with the resistors, do i place them on the postive or negative side?

The Parts: Radio Shack LED's and Resistors... i'll post the stock numbers tomorrow so you guys get the right ones.... estimated cost of goods under $30
and, radioshack is selling their LEDs for 4 bucks a piece, that won't make 30 bucks after i buy more than 6 lights or so.

thanks in advanced

Well all the HVAC controls/switchs all are lit by one led. Then if you have a rear defroster, theres another. Rear wiper is another. So 3 total. Unless you want to change your power mirror/foglight/ crusie control panel too?
