I don't want to read the whole post but I believe that Import Intelligence sells stuff to change the needles and to make them blingbling like the rest of your gauges.

Yo that stuff is alot easer then you think... if you can solder 2 wired together you can do this... if its easer find the green wire thats the illumination lead... then you can just ditch the bulbs and run your own wires (any type of thin wire will do) and run a few leds off that one lead and stick them anywear... in the HVAC i drilled 3 more holes behind it so i can put more LEDs back there... there is only one stock bulb there now. The parts are from Radio Shack and thats it.....

for the HVAC pull the bulb out and cut that wire, and use those 2 leads.. thats what i did...

:thumb: Sweet

Hey has anyone ever taken apart thier gauges(i.e boost, exh. temp., oil pressure) I would like to change my gauges to blue or ultra violet that would be pretty cool. I have autometer mechanical, how hard are these to open up and can they be glued back together?

yeah i did that but you dont need to open up the gauge i have 2 blue leds in each gauge i have, one pointing down and one pointing up, for an even light you dont need to open it up you just solder the leds on to the wires just like the HVAC bulb.... then use some glue or tape to hold it to something so it dont move....

:( HEY Airpoppoff im not quite following your on the guage thing, do the LED's just pop out from the back of the guages and you just replace it with another LED?

Airpoppoff,

How did you do the gauge cluster? I took mine appart and do you just switch the LEDs out with the clear lights and add the resistor?

not sure if this was posted or not there is a lot to read here but:

what color are the factory lights them selfs (in the dash, hvac, buttons, etc...???) are they orange or is there a film or something that makes them orange?

what do you guys think of these gauges? will this do the same trick?

I replaced a few of the back led's in the gauges and they come up as uneven light. Where the led's are near the light is much brighter then in other areas. Especially on the engine temperature gauge. How did you solve this?

Also i have a problem that my needles take on the light from the blue led's so the needles start to turn blue so there isn't very much contrast there. Not very good.

If you know how to solve these problems please tell me.

if you are very carful you can grind down the top of the led to create a even light, dont do too much or it will blur it, and make shure its angled correctly
