I have 2 easy question for you.

1. I bought some blue led at the store. I decided to test it and it's very bright. Is it normal that spot me?

2. 10,400 mcd led are too bright or will come to hot?

no they wont get hot, hook it up to something and leave it on and see if it conducts any heat at all, but i doubt it, leds really dont conduct any heat, how many volts do they take????

That's 4,5 volts leds. I don't think that they come heat. On 4,5 volt, they are too bright a little bit.

how did you get your's to light up evenly, if you look at mine(posted before), there are a couple hot spots and then it fades real bad.

They are not install. I just bought it. But you have normal led and super bright led. I bought the second one. I pay 2,95$/each :xnuts: I will try to start doing the operation :) this week-end.

Thanks for information Airpoppoff

np guys

anyways, i dont know dude mine lighted up really evenly, jaybone had the same problem, he ended up putting 3 leds in his, all i did was take out the regular bulb and slid the led barley in so maybe the led was about 1/4 inside the hvac, i put hot glue around the led adn it sits in there just fine, but when i moved it around before i noticed the light would change from dimm to bright, i guess its just the angle the led's at...

Hi,
I try to install mine today and I burned 2 leds. I put the resistor on the positive cable. When I put the whiper led in his slot, the led burned?

Why did they burn? Is it because my resistor are not enough big?? It's 330ohms.

Please help?

Thanks in advanced

thats odd, it shouldent burn, ifi was you id stop and go get the regular blue leds, but if you wanna ty the rest of those i suggest alot bigger ristor, that doesent make sense but it might work i suggest a 1000ohm or something like that, just try it and see what happens but with that big of resistor i think its gonna look like the normal radio shack led's, its up to you really if you need anything else let me know

Thanks Jaybone but I have an other question. Did you just put the led at the same place then the regular light?? But you put a resistor of 330ohm? If yes, I find my problem! I put the led at the same place then the normal bulb with it's resistor but the wire before the resistor maybe touch the harness that hold the normal light!!! It's become exactly like if I doesn't have resistor. :shhh: That not very bright my procedure!!

I will try it next weed-end.

I'm not sure if this could be the reason b/c I haven't done mine yet, they are being ordered, but the Radio Shack guy in my town told me that there are differnt degrees of somthing, but basically it means that the smaller the angle the less it will spread but it will be brighter from straight on. hope that helps you some!

I did the blue LED kit for my HVACs in my 2g talon, i love it, but theres too much orange left. For the controls left of the steering wheel, how do u replace those? Just take out the switches/buttons? Also, Has anyone found a way to change the key ring in the ignition and/or the ring around the cig lighter? those are bad too thanks, nice interior too.

why would you want to solder them sright to the plug???, well if you want to then just find the wire that does 12v+ and the one that does 12v- then tap into those. And about the hvac switch??? what hvac switch??? about the a/c switch? dont even try the a/c switch....

yes your right about the switches to the left of the steering wheel, you cant do the cruise control though, they use like little tiny 2mm bulbs that are way to hard to get into, i almost broke mine trying to do this, took me about an hour to put the switch back together in the right way.

And about the key ring on the ignintion, thats easy, i did mine but you cant see it in my pic, but take off the bottom black plastic panel under the steering wheel and take off the top plastic panel, move the steering wheel up and there is a bulb that goes and reflects around the ekyring, much similar to the cigarrette lighter bulb, it takes time to do the keyring and hard kind of working upside down but its worth it when its done, i can get a pic if you want.....

LOL I hear that... But I'd really love to have that look too. How much roughly anyone think it'd cost to have done by someone else?

uhhh well i dont know if you could find anyone to do it though seriously, i think its more of a DYS thing, its all custom pretty much.... if i charge someone to do it id do it for 100 bucks but thats me...

Rubbersidedown: 330 ohm resistor on the pos (longer) leg

what i was talking about was jaybone said he soldered his leds and wired them depending on the way that the switches were. there isn't enough clearance in some of the switches to do that. and for the hvac switch it says to wire them that way. thats why i was asking if I could do some of the switches that way also sice it seems to be a little easier but i just wanted to see if anyone else had did it way and if so how exactly thanks

ohhhh alright, for the hvac switch yes your right, theres two wires that go into the bulb, both red, theres a harness at the end of the red wires, and there is a green and black wire going into the harness, follow the green wire off of the harness on to the red wire, thats your power wire

as for the swtiches thats kinda hard to explain in my case really, for some leds that were hard to get in there and clearance issues, well i just cut the plastic say for instance the fog light swtich, it takes time you can do it that way or your way it dot really matter.....

Hey, it looks great man. How long did the whole project take? I have a 1g, and I'm thinking about doing the same, with blue led's...
