ok so this question is for all them low 12 and 11 second 14B guys....

What injectors are you guys running???

i kno a few of you have stock injectors.
i went 12.3 @ 112 on stock injectors with no fuel control,

should i stick with the 450s or get some 550s???

thanks.. Jason

im not lookin to turn up the boost anymore
when i ran at the track it was about 22
i was just wondering if i should stick with the 450s because i already have good mph

ohh yea and i kno that people say when you have a 2g mas you need 550s because it will run to lean, but i have a 2gmas with a non turbo fpr witch bumps the fuel pressure to almost 50 at idle and i have a re wired 255 pump so im getting plenty of fuel

just wondering if i should stick with the 450s

I would stick with the 450's as long as:

1) You do not plan on turning up the boost anymore
2) Your IDC's are at a safe level
3) Your air-to-fuel ratio is at a safe level.

If any of these ^^^ does not qualify, then bump up tp 550's.

I think 22 psi on stock 450cc injectors is pushing it no matter what. It would be much safer to run 550cc injectors at this point. I am still amazed he is doing 112 MPH on 450cc injectors with a fuel pump only. I have the same setup actually but I have a FMIC I am wondering if 18 psi on 450 cc injectors with a walbro 255lph will be safe?

22 psi on 450's is enough to make me a quadrapalegic! i have 680's on 23 psi on a 14b and that bi*** is maxed. i got a sleeper 20g but im waitin for the 14b to dake a poopsky on me...whick will be very soon becaus eits makin some funny noises. but back on the 450cc's on 22 psi...like i said..its enough to make me become a quadrapalegic. unless you have the tops cut off with a supra tt pump..your knock has to be through the roof and egt's high enough to weld the valves shut. please do me a favor and get some more fuel. its amazing that your car us still running..honestly.

22 psi on 450s isent a big deal, i run 20psi everyday and 22 to 24 at the track, and if my knock was threw the roof how would i be running low 12s at 112, i had it on the logger and its barly has any knock, i dont kno why everyone thinks its a big deal that i still have stock injectors

In fact there are plenty of guys that go low 12s even 11s with 450s on a 14b the one guy even had a stock fuel pump! and stock intercooler and ic pipes! and they are ###### running like 24psi of boost! so its not a big deal, my car is running fine and has been for 2 years pushing 20psi all day daily driver.

to steve93talon..
yea i run at atco raceway, im there alot..
ive heard about you from some of my buddies

I guess I can crank it at 18 psi than with my setup:

450cc injectors
DSMLINK
Walbro 255LPH HP
3 inch turboback exhaust with 3 inch high flow cat
14B turbo
Megaflow HKS intake
1G BOV

Going to put a GM MAFT soon because I have the MAFT laying around but need a GM MAF. I run 91 octane sometimes 94 octane depending.

The 14B only flows 405CFM so I guess it makes sense why you didn't get a lot of knock or blow your motor.

Joe Bucci runs 126 mph with boost controller all the way open on his 14b and 450cc injectors.

I am amazed LOL. I think if you put a 16g turbo at that boost level with stock injectors you will blow your motor.

I run a NT fuel pressure regualtor on the stock 450's. I have had mine like that for years, the extra 11psi of base fuel pressure makes the 450's flow the same as a 560cc injector would with the stock turbo FPR. It's alot cheaper than 550's too (although you still have to tune for the change, I have a MAFT)

The reason people dont run the 14b at those boost levels is because it overspeeds the turbo and can cause shaft failure, or compressor/turbine wheel explosion. Not to mention the 14b loses efficiency quickly after about 20psi and after that it superheats the air coming out of the turbo, which is hardly good for power, and can cause detonation if you run a stock intercooler.

I run my 14b at 19 psi on pump gas and it makes more power (281 whp) at that boost level than when I tried running it at 22psi (253whp).

well i decided to get 550s... there in the car now and it still feels fast as hell with them, and its untuned, im going to have my buddy help me tune it on his wideband and then im going to hit up the track and see what happens hopefully them and fixing some boost leaks, i can run 12.1s or lower... hopefully break into the 11s on the 14b :thumb: but i doubt it LOL

I have a set of 550cc injectors in perfect condition if anybody is interested. Less than 4K miles. Upgrading my turbo so i no longer need them.....

Whoops, just noticed you got the 550's. Good luck, it would be sweet to see you get into the 11's.

It's because people aren't hardcore anymore.

People setting record times with 14b's aren't running stock intercoolers and stock ic piping because they're short on cash.
