I'm reworking my cooling setup, and have a question. I bought a CXRacing radiator (nice quality - $139), and it's fin height is 13-1/8"...about 1" shorter than stock. So my Hayden 12" and 10" slim fans no longer fit.

I'm thinking about going with one high flowing 12 inch puller, like this 19008 Perma-Cool or the 1360 CFM Spal from RRE. If I make a shroud that completely covers the radiator, and set the fan in the shroud towards the passenger side where the stock one would be, will I get too much underhood heat since the air coming off the driver's side of the radiator is no longer blowing over the turbo/DP?

My thought is that a good shroud will cause the 12" fan to pull air through the entire radiator, but it's discharging it on the intake side...which means no air will be blowing over the turbo/DP. But on the plus side, heat from the turbo/DP should have a harder time affecting the radiator temperature.

There's also room to put a small 8" pusher in front of the A/C condenser on the driver's side to help slightly in traffic.

Thoughts?

I have a single puller on mine. Just make sure the air in front of the radiator gets directed through the radiator. You do not want a shroud on the engine side because it will block the air flow during driving.
