because the appearance section is not working for me, i'm posting here.
i just acquired an '89 mercury cougar from my aunt who lives in denver, and the paint on the hood and roof is really faded, i fear that it my start peeling this winter. i'm not worried about the appearance, but i also don't want to worry about losing enough paint that it gets too close to bare metal; what can i do for a cheap fix? i was thinking about just buying some krylon or rustoleum clear coat and adding a layer or two of that and calling it good.
any help would be appreciated

Depends on how much you care about how it looks. Of course rattle can and clear coat are going to be better than bare metal. Get some steel wool and try to smooth the edges as much as possible and have at it. Good luck.:thumb:
