Custom throttle body elbow AIT bung FAIL

Looks really clean. Good luck on your path to One Lap. What's with the bung FAIL on the last pic? Was that your bad or some company you paid? Either way, it looks really good. I want to see installed pics next.

One Lap is a ways off (read years), I actually did most of the work I posted last year. The Throttle body elbow was done by a shop. Not really all their fault, I am in school for engineering so I know better than asking for something to be fabricated without a drawing and specifications. I just assumed they knew my application. So they put the Air inlet temp sensor bung in the way of the throttle cable LOL. I just didn't have a place to put it.

You seem to be very on top of things with your engine build. Some of the stuff seems unnecessary like you don't need to check for rod to block clearance on eagle rods that's a aluminum rod thing and 6oz at the crank is not going to even be felt with a 100mm eagle crank. Looks real good though keep up the work and good luck man

Its a 2.3, so you do need to clearance the main caps, block and oil squirters, because with all three parts there is interference. I wasn't expecting to make even 1 hp off of removing that, especially since the crank weighs about 35 lbs (didn't bother to weigh it LOL). I just liked the idea that it cost 10 bucks to do what I planned on machining a part for and it took a trip to the parts store that I was doing anyway for other parts :). I just like making everything is right. The engine I will be building in about a month will be a low mass engine, 29 lb crank, and even higher level of detail ;)But thanks for the kind words :)

Yup, you use the standard throttle cable. I already have a new elbow powder coated and ready to go in so its not a big deal.

How did you save 10oz off the crank timing pulley?

I think it was 6 ozes, for 10 bucks. Its a spacer rather than the stock balance shaft belt sprocket. Its a mitsubishi factory part. I forget what the hell the part number is. The part on the left below that tag is the new mitz part, and the one on the right is the old balance shaft sprocket.

Do you have a picture with the spacer installed? I ordered the Balance Shaft Elimination kit from JNZ and it came with that spacer but until now I didn't know what it was for.

it slides on the crank behind the crank timing tin.
