Hey all, so during my last oil change the guy pointed out that my "flywheel plate" was missing, so the bottom portion of the flywheel is exposed. He told me that the plate was missing and if I get a rock in there while driving...::insert hick comment here:::

Anyway,
it was like that from the day I bought the car so I thought it was normal to be exposed that way.

Is there actually supposed to be a plate covering the lower section of tranny where the flywheel is? Searched for underbody pics to compare couldnt find any.
Searched ebay and google for a plate couldn't find one.

Any help-?

yep your missing a tin cover. I'm not 100% but I think one from any turbo dsm will fit. 1g or 2g. there are like 4 bolts that hold it on. Its ###### better to have one, but I havn't had any problems with not running one for the last 6 yrs.

Well this makes me feel better about not having one either. I just got my car running before I left for Iraq so I will get one from the dealer if I can't find one at the junkyard once I return :thumb:

Thanks for the info :D

Just finish my rebuild and was missing my inspection plate. The dealer wanted ~$28, so checking around I found one at Extreme PSI for $8.50 (7bolt) + shipping or $5 + shipping (6 bolt).

This happened with my 6th gen Accord. I did a auto to manual swap and could never find the cover for the flywheel. I was told dirt/water/rocks/etc could get in there and cause the flywheel to glaze or your clutch to slip. I never had a problem though.

noticed mine was exposed after i got the car. Didn't think anything of it, but thought it was kinda odd that the flywheel was just exposed like that. Hope nothing got screwed up because I noticed my flywheel was rusty.

Anyways, got one ordered now.
