Glad to hear you are going to go with better rubber next time out,

I would stick with the Hoosiers.

I did not suggest the tires were coming apart or neglected, but still a 5 yr old tire
is a 5 yr old tire, and I personally would not risk it.

There is enough risk just being out on the track dont want to sound as I am preaching to you as I have also done the same thing that you did but have regretered later.

For sure. However, it appears this weekends trackday will be a rainout, bummer.

Off topic, but still related sort of. This October will be three years since I've been at the drag strip, so my slicks are now 'old.'

Anyway, once I've got my awd ready for the roadcourse I'll be looking for some 245-255 tires for the 17 x 9s I have....
