Im pretty much kicking ass this year in street mod around here. Now that everything is getting fairly sorted out after 5 years doing this Ive been really just focusing on driving. Getting much better at putting down power for as long as possible, breaking hard and turning at the right times. Also, pushing the cone distance as close as possible is really picking up lots of time.

My last run was a 56.9 (best for comp was 57.4) and the tires were way over heated (their was zero waiting between 1 driver coming in and the next heading out). I felt like the car was all over the place and wouldnt turn at all, but pushing the cones made up for all of that netting an extra .5sec.

Heres the results.

Notice the other Talon, its my co-driver and the guy who Im trying to get up to speed since he's buying it. Also note the raw times, 8th/90 isnt bad considering at least 5 of the people ahead of me are national champions.

2 Skylines were there (white and grey) and both were slower than me :hellyeah:. But holy hell, they sounded bad ass coming through the finish. That 6cyl rocks!

Excellent results! Nice work on pushing the car more and more as your technique and driving skills increase. There is a lot of time to be shaved off on braking alone, as you are finding out. Keep up the good work! :hellyeah:

Thanks guys, the car and I have definately come a long way. I remember back in the day the guy who taugh me how to auto-x was a full 3 sec faster than me, but the car sucked. It was easy to reach the limits because they werent very far out there. Now you really have to just trust it and drive the piss out of it without overdriving corner entry.

This year alone Ive made huge improvements in driving. Places Ive picked up a lot of time are braking early and being back on the throttle through the corner. With the 2.4 and pre-loading their is ZERO lag on the E3, Ever, period.. Its amazing. Also pushing the cones really try to get as close as possible (course workers love me now :D) and treating that last slalom cone as more of "Just get by it" cone letting me essencially go full throttle around the 2nd to last cone.

Chris is definately getting a regionally competitive car, he just has a long way to go on driving but he's gettin there. Fresh tires, a front quaife, and a bit more skill would make him pretty unstoppable around here. Kinda makes me sad to sell it, but Im ready to move on to something newer and with fancy diff magic :thumb:
