Whats up, yea this might a little over done topic, but in my defense i have been searching around quite a bit and im not comming up with solid results. I am a newbie in the DSM scene, i had a civic before that had a mini me swap and some other fun shit.

Well i'll get to the point, i have been in the market for a catback exhaust. And honestly i know the mechanics behind the flow characteristics and stuff, but its also sort of an opinion thing (which exhaust is better), and which sounds cooler. What i have been looking into is a Apexi N1. BTW, (i have a 95 GST, with Hardpipe IC piping and a Greddy Type RS). my future goals will be to get a boost controller and jack the boost up to like 10 - 11 range. Then eventually get a B16G.

So the specs on the N1 say something like 70mm-74.7mm and 85mm for a GST. Now, im looking for a 3in exhaust. So 70mm is like 2.5.. and 74.7 is like 2.9... i guess im confused on whether or not the N1 will be sufficent for my future needs. And is the N1 a 3 in or what. --damn metric system-- And on a less important note i was looking for an exhaust that sounds pretty bad ass and from hearing the N1 clips i wasnt really impressed. I checked the Exhaust clips forum and listened to a few, most of the links didnt work but either way, will the N1 be good? Or will i need to look around? suggestions are always welcome. Thanks again

**and if this topic has been way overkilled, i can take the flaming**
**not sure if thats an issue on DSMtuners, but overkilled topics are about severe as killing the president on Honda-Tech <-- :notgood: **

Even though both the Apexi N1 as well as the similar HKS Hiper aern't true 3" catbacks, they are still good for a lot of power....which is why they are still popular

FWIW, stock psi is around 11.5-12 depending on where the stock bov starts to leak. You would know this if you had an aftermarked boost gauge. I highly recommend one before you get a MBC.

A generally accepted safe setting for what you have after you put the boost controller on is 15 psi. Have fun! :thumb:

yea i didnt know the stock psi was that high. For some reason i heard it was around 7.. Either way yes i plan on making the nessesary upgrades for turning up the boost. I was more concerned on the exhaust choice. But thanks for the replies guys.

ive heard a lot of people say they like the N1, i cant say from experience there but my recommendation would be to make your own, exhaust is easy of you have the tools, and a hell of a lot cheaper that way. but then again, if you dont have access to the tools needed, that kinda puts that out of the question. sorry i couldnt be more help

I have the N1 on my GS-T, and I love it. The pipe is even coated so that it won't rust (from the outside at least). It sounds great at idle, and opens up wonderfully under throttle. And it is plenty big enough. At first I was a bit like WTF when I saw the tip, but I got used to it. It's like a big black gaping hole of doom. :sneaky:

I have a stainless steel o2 sensor housing w/ dump tube and 3inch apex N1 downpipe and cat back. Other than the fact that it is the SICKEST looking exhaust system out there, it sounds absolutely beautiful. Not annoying a cruise, but deep and intimidating at wot. And most importantly, the turbo spools so much quicker, it makes a noticeable difference in power gain. I highly recommend this exhaust system. :talon:

awesome guys thanks, i think im gonna go with it. :thumb:
