Ok, so after getting pissed because my studs keep backing out or stripping out the threads on my exhaust mani, I am planning to order some split lock ones from jegs. I have used these on domestic cars before and they are awesome. Can anyone tell me the bolt diameter for the exhaust mani tho? I believe these split locks only come in 5/16 bolts and either 3/4in or 1 inch long. But at nearly 60 bux I don't want to get ones to small to put in. And I'm just not near my car for a bit so wanna order em before I get home.

i had close to the same issue except all my threads were stripted in my head for my mani studs. so ### i did was drilled out all threads and tapped with a 3/8-24 NF GH3 and used the appropreate drill bit. ten bought those black allen head bolts i beleive they were 1" (dont hold me to it because its was done like 3 weeks ago and i cant find the receipt from fasternal (this place is awsome they have everything and its cheap) the only issue i had was i had to drill out 2 hole in the mani because they were smaller than the rest so make sure all ## bolts fit before putting it on and haveing to take it off again to drill out bigger holes. and last but not least the easiest way to tighten them is use one ofe those T allens because its a pain in the ass to get a socketed allen to fit depending on what mani you have. they have held up great for me and i am running 18 lbs of boost

I bought the car with the studs in there and the kid stripped out half the threads from over torquing the crap out of the nuts. They have heli coils in there but I'm still getting one or two that keep backing out. These split lock ones are 12 pt bolts with a pin that goes into the center and expands them inside the hole slightly ensuring they don't back out unless you remove the pin first. I used them on a twin turbo V8 application a few years back and never had a problem at over 20psi. I have a 2g mani for now that I'm running. I'm trying to finish getting the little things to install my 50trim into the car tho and these are one of the last parts I need.
