Do you think that haveing my exhaust come out the side of the car right before the back tire?

I think you phrased this funny. Did you mean,
"What do you think that haveing my exhaust come out the side of the car right before the back tire?"

It's been done. someone actually mentioned this recently I think. They even have a "fake" exhaust out back to fool people (sleeper). I think it will work if you do it tastefully. You'll have to find a place for the muffler though. If your running one.

I don't know your law's in Iowa, but as long as you comply with the noise pollution and exhaust pollution control, I think you would be ok. You can check with yur county or state to see there current emission and sound controll laws. They can tell you for sure or put you in contact with who can. It never hurts to ask.

I would do like LordZed said. Run a fake exhaust out the back to fool everyone that doesnt know. That would be sweet. :thumb:

I don't like the idea of running an exhaust prior to the tire, I think after is always much better. Reason #1 sound, having the tale pipe closer to the cabinet will make it a little louder. Reason #2, exhaust gases will wear on your tire and tire components (brakes, calipers, rim... etc). Ford recalled many trucked shipped from the factory with this setup because it was rusting those items and causing premature failure. Now, on the other hand if it is not a daily driver I think it would be pretty cool.

Very interesting tid bit there with the Ford info. I remember when that style F-150 came out. I asked the Ford engineers why the hell they did that? There answer was "Because we save X amount of dollars just cutting that extra three feet of exhaust out and routing it in front of the rear tire."
Who's saving money after all the recall's!!!!
