Search, search and more search= dead end!
Has nothing to do with tunning yet so I'm posting in here. I can't get evoscan to work on my notebook.
When I go to install NET_Framework2. The program that comes with evoscan cd from jeff at dsmchip on my notebook( HPPavilion dv6-2155dx) It says that my notebook does not support the program. So go here to get it http://www.bing.com/search?q=Microsoft+.NET+Framework+2.0+SP1&pc=ZUGO&form=ZGAFDF and still don't work. Im getting my links here but it's not very detail on which one to get... http://dsmchips.com/viewproduct.php?id=22

Also Jeff gave me this link...
http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/CDM/CDM20602.zip.. I extracted the files but nothing happen. Is this just a support program?
I extracted all the other files but I'm can't get pass net framework to install the other requirements to run evoscan.
It's been over two weeks and I havent log my car yet. I am computer retarded so any help will need to go to great detail.
I thought that I had everything going but when I go connect to my notebook to my car. Evoscan says to replug my usb and try again.

Thanks!

What model of HP notebook are you using and what operating system is it running? Perhaps that will help.

Side note, the .NET Framework 2.0 is pretty old at this point. I believe the current version is 4.x.

HPPavilion dv6-2155dx specs are on google.
64 bit, windows 7 vista I think.

Please specify if you have Microsoft Windows Vista OR Microsoft Windows 7. There is no such windows 7 vista.

But I'm guessing the 64 bit setup probably has something to do with it. If you are running windows Vista 64 bit, I'd say you may be SOL. Windows 7 64 bit probably has some 32 bit compatibility mode.

Thanks for putting up with my illiterate computer skills. Pardon me but it's window 7.
And when I try to download it does say something that it's not compatible with 64 bit or something. I have no idea what that is.

Careful about posting that stuff on the internet.....

Anyway, yea, the 64 bit operating system you are running appears to be the problem. Your best bet would be to create a small partition on your hard drive and install another 32 bit operating system. You can install XP, Vista, or Windows 7, as long as it's 32 bit. Then you will have to set up a dual boot system. For a novice, this is a rather daunting task, but I can walk you through the steps if you'd like. Otherwise, try searching around the internet for dual boot, you will probably get some great how to articles/videos.
