help on evoscan logging

help on evoscan.. trying to log but it's not connecting to the ecu am i doing something wrong? I clicked openport 1.3x, dsm/3000gt/ecl.MUTovrOBDII. I have 97 gst with 99 flashable ecu. and evoscan v2.9

I'm assuming you're using the 1.3u cable?

yes i am, the one from ebay for like 13 bucks

First off, that's not an actual tactrix 1.3u. That's just a logging serial cable. Secondly, I've never had good luck using them, I only use the legit tactrix because those have always been buggy for me.

One thing to make sure, do not use the drivers that come with the ebay connector (the little cd they give you) only use the drivers provided with evoscan/ecuflash. That's one of the main issues with it not connecting.

I don't have all my install files anymore, but you can just download ecuflash (which is free) and grab the drivers from there.

I do have the ecuflash downloaded, I'm not trying to flash yet till I get the 2.0 cable, just want to log for now

i did that already but no luck. i don't know what to do next. it look so simple but it wont connect, you think it's the cable?
