I'm looking to do some logging in my 2g DSM (95).

I saw that many people are running Ecmlink nowdays which I'm sure its a great tool but I don't want to spend as much for it now. Apparently many pocketlockers and cables are now discontinued and I don't really like how low the logging samples are.

I found some info on these forums for using evoscan on a dsm but most of it is more than 10 years old.

Anything else I need to know on how to run evoscan on a 2g?

If I buy evoscan would I be able to run it in a laptop with this cable?

Doubtful. The pin outs on that cable are for VW/Audi, etc. If the cable were at least for a Mitsu, you could try it, but it’s probably a waste of money.

You need to finish your profile to describe which engine, etc., you have.

EvoScan works well to log basic engine parameters on the 4G63/64. The Tactrix cables are expensive, but they work.

Edit: Found one old thread on here that claims the VAG-COM 409.1 KKL cable off bay will work. If you buy this, please report back here about your success or failure so we have an updated account of whether these are a viable option.
