EvoIII Is Evo 8? Or Evo3 Big 16g?

Hello there,

I've got a little problem, I will come to Miami this Wednesday.
I wanted to buy a big fp28 there, but now I changed my mind and I want to buy something which is a little bigger and has a little more top end.
Now I always get confused with these turbos:

Evo III
Evo III 16G
Evo3 Big 16g
Evo 8
Big 16G

Can you please help me out? Which one is the best/better than the fp big28? I do not want to buy the wrong one for my 2g.

The Evo III is a 16g so the first two are the same. Never heard of a Evo III big 16g. And a Big16g is just another version of the 16g. The Evo 8 is a car. With that said your best bet is the Evo III 16g. Very popular street/strip turbo that I have seen propel people into the 12's before. Plus it is bolt-on which is always a plus.

There are 4 variants of the 16G

Small 16g
16g
Big 16g
EVO 3 16g

Evo8 turbo is not a bolt on.

THe EVO3 is a car, that uses the same engine/tranny etc as 1g DSMs. however was made to be faster, thats why alot of people upgrade to EVO3 exhaustmanifolds, turbos, etc.

There is also an "EVO3 GT" turbo that is a knockoff that, from the general consensus is not quite up to par with the real thing. However I don't have any personal experience with it.

When somebody says 16G, it denotes the small 16G used in earlier EVOs.

EVoIII 16G is comparable to the Big 16G but outflows it by a bit.

Big16G is comparable to the FP Big T28. The T28 spools faster but the Big16G outflows it and has a higher topend power.

e316G ~550 cfm.

evo 8 16G is almost the same, but it backwards. So it'd be a PITA to moun to our cars. Plus the turbine housing design is completely different

i would go with the evo 3 big 16g it out flows and spools up fast and is a bigger bang for the buck
