EVOIII GT turbo same as EVOIII big16g turbo??

one of my friends is selling a EVOIII GT turbo but i have heard its a cheap version of the mhi evo III big 16g turbo. does anyone know any differences?

evoIIIgt sounds like it the ebay version of the 16g get some pics we can def identify it

evo3 gt is legit it just has a ported wastegate for boost creep elimination.

Evo III GT:

- Made in Taiwan, not China.
- All of it's parts are interchangeable with MHI Evo III parts.
- Early GT's suffered from turbine shaft breakage....I've personally seen three of them that broke the turbine wheels right off. When this happens, the turbo is junk.

If it's a good deal, go for it. Just keep your fingers crossed.

wow thanks for that link it really explanied alot! im still not to sure what to do with this car yet it is my daily driver but i want it to have some power to it. im still not sure if i should get a 14b or this evoIII gt or even a MHI evoIII big16g if i put a 16g on the car (only has injen intake) i know i would need a fuel pump anything else??? and for the 14b other then a 2g install kit is that it? please if anyone can help with some info that would be great

Hey bro I have the GT Concepts Evo 3 GT turbo on my 1g. Bought it after a fresh rebuild straight from turbochargers.com....the GT Concepts were built in house by turbochargers.com but the bbl group ones were made in Taiwan. They come cast ported at 7cm with a ported wastegate area and 34mm flapper. The turbine blades are a bit thicker which contributes to the slightly slower spool. I have put over 6000 miles on the turbo and it has zero shaft play and i love the turbo. For the price i got it at it was an unbeatable deal. They dont make those turbos anymore so get it while you can if it doesnt have shaft play. Any questions PM me man.
