Anyone have a copy of the Evo8 OEM base timing map?

Done.

sorry to bring that back up from a short napThe injector global size and dead time settings need to match the actual behavior of the installed injectors. Your fuel and ignition maps can be whatever. Just because you use the map from an Evo does not mean that the actual installed parts have to be Evo spec or DSM spec. But they do have to be accounted for in the setup of the parameters no matter what you're using to tune with.
I am reading as much as I can. Some conflicts with what im reading but its manageable.Bobby, if we are still talking about the Evo 8 timing map the injector size shouldn't matter.
The fuel maps also don't depend on injector size, for any given air mass the ECU will compute pretty much the same net fuel amount and scale the injector pulse width to do so with the injectors installed. The scaling happens at the end of the computation once the target AFR and any enrichments for conditions have been considered.
There is a large section in the '90 DTM that covers how the ECU works and if you haven't read it, it's worth it.
delta448's comment is spot on.
I have not read that no. but im remembering some of what i was once working on bit by bit. i rear ecmlink almost daily now to refresh my brain. the stock tune back then works well infact it was great! only reason i looked into the evo one is because of the like for like in compression. im going to work in it tomorrow on the evo setup so will see how it does on the drive. if im not happy i can revert back to stock maps and tweak from that. my last known settings were also setup for stock maps so adjusting for the EVO map would be small since i did not change too much from before.Don't look at forum posts until you digest the fuel section of this https://www.dsmtuners.com/attachments/technical-information-manual-talon-laser-1990-pdf.548037/
From your comments it doesn't seem like you have.
Changes in compression ratios would be something that likely requires changes in timing maps. Same for the tuning of the fuel maps but injector changes are pretty isolated to some size parameters and some enrichment tables. IIRC the cold start enrichment was one where the injector size made a difference and scaling is needed. But it's been a long time since I looked and it wasn't something I had a great understanding of how the code worked.
