evo3 exhaust manifold

I gots a quesition about the evo3 exhaust manifold. would it be a direct bolt on to a 2nd gen? I plan on getting a 02 eliminator downpipe and a big 16g turbo, if i got this part would i have to change anything else later on to fit well with it? Basically i'm concerend with mods not fitting onto other mods type of thing.....if that makes sense.

sorry one more thing. does anyone really think the cost is worth the gain. or would it be best just to port my 2nd gen

Yes, the evo3 exhaust manifold is a direct bolt on. It will work with the 16g, and the 16g will work with an o2 eliminating downpipe.
Yes I think it is a better performer than a similarly ported 2nd gen manifold.
If money is an issue, just get the 2nd gen manifold ported out. There are cars making serious power with it.

just port your stock one. No need in spending all the money for an EVO one, your's will perform just fine

Let me add that in my shopping.... The evo (ported and better then ported 2g) is same price or even cheaper then stock (unported) 2g. I wonder why people would buy a new 2g at that point.

if i take my 2nd gen to a machine shop and tell them to port it. will they know how much to port out or is there any specs that i should give them or something. cause i'm not to knowledgeable on porting....isnt it just grinding the surface down so it is smoother and has more of an opening for the exhaust to flow through???

Hey, i guess since im a newb i just liked looked around for prices for the tuning guide stuff and checked everywhere, hence why i was so confused about the whole idea of even going 2g unless u already have one. Im thinking getting the dsmparts evo 16g w/manifold or maybe just the manifold and then shopping for the best turbo price.
