I know this response was posted a long time ago, but I have to ask: how does the 1g and 2g steering ratios compare? My 1g ratio feels a HELL of a lot slower than other sport compacts I've driven including the Impreza 2.5i, STi, and Audi A4. I feel like I have to cross my hands over each other just to take a 90 degree turn at a traffic light with my 1g, but in my old Audi A4 and my current Impreza 2.5i, I just dip the wheel down with one hand to make the turn. I'm seriously considering getting a 1.5:1 quickener sometime in the future.Honestly our steering ratios are faster than probably 95% of the cars out on the road I'd say. Feels a hair faster than the newer STi's (06-07), on par with an RX-7, but definitely not like an Evo. I have a tiny Momo wheel, and while I completely understand this doesn't change the ratio (and I still DO want to speed up my steering ratio), the car to me feels very responsive. If I ever do let someone else drive it they always comment on how quick the car reacts to steering inputs. And yes this is coming from STi/Evo/RX-7 owners. I don't even have upgraded suspension bushings yet.
I've gotta say I'm definitely interested in a shorter steering ratio, for something I can afford.Has anyone ever gone through with the installation of a quickener?
