Found a set I was going to buy on evom.net. He wanted 400, I offered 300. He didn't seem to like that. I guess I'll keep my eyes open.

yeah guys i wont be getting the evo wheels..atleast not from this guy..i offered him up to $300 but he wanted no less than $400 and continued to argue about how they are selling online for $1000 new without tires and i argued back stating they are just stock wheels and so on but he wouldnt budge so i told him thanks anyways and im sticking with my ADR's =] thank you guys, maybe one day ill find a someone with Evo wheels who isnt trying to rip me off haha

The 3rd gen rims are much more bubbly and stupid looking. It's like the EVO IX rims' younger sister. You said you're running 225/45/17, gofer? Now, as of now, I don't have springs/coils but my fenders also aren't rolled. If I am in anticipating a 1.5'' drop all the way around, what should I run for tires? I miss the width of my EVO's tires. I used to run 255/45/17 5ZIGENs and they looks mean as hell. I'm looking to get something similar without going too far as to where I drop it and I rub ALL day.

yeah i mean they do resemble the 3rd gen wheels, a guy owns a 3rd gen here where i live and they do look alike but the 3rd gen wheels are the same spoke type but the curve out and then in, they are "bubbly" like was said earlier. the evo wheels are just flat spoke wheels.

and gofer was running 225/45/17's and it looks great! another guy running evo wheels on his tsi said he ran 235/40/17's and he rubbed every once in awhile and then switched to 225/40/17 and it was perfect with about a 2 inch drop.

my drop is about 3 inches in front and 2 in rear and i run 225/40/18's and i love it.

I ran 17x8 +35s with a 225/45/17 and ran it pretty low. Only rubbed when I had 4 people in the car or lots of weight in the rear. Even then I'd attribute it more to me having a bad suspension and with coilovers completely avoidable.

im with dannygsx! the evo9 MR BBS wheels are complete SEX!! especially in the diamond black finish! id take those over any evo wheel in my opinion... now to find a set.. ;)
