Hey, Ive searched for an answer but no one seems to have this problem, sorry if this is a previously posted question.

I have swapped an EVO III into my 97 gst. The only problem I am having is with the camshaft position sensor. The Evo does not have a CAS, the cap is there but the cam does not have threads so I can't put in the the old CAS on the evo. The car runs ok but not to its best. The CEL is on, giving me code P0340. Any ideas as to what I could do, do I need another ecu or get different cams? Any response would be appreciated.

The EVO III did have a CAS on the intake cam.

I have personally seen the engine bay of an EVO III and here are pics of other EVO III engine bays.

and

looking at my ### CAPs program the part number for the EVO III CAS is MD184529

Post the VIN number stamped on the engine block so I can run it through ### CAPs and see if it's really an EVO III engine block.

Hope this helps,
