Ok here is the story.....I am still kinda a noob when it comes to performance mods and upgrades....However i have been learning now about my 2g..LONG STORY SHORT....i jus had a lil argument with this guy telling me my setup is horrible.....I plan on getting evo 16g put in will WALBRO 255 pump,510cc from evo III, AFPR,boost controller, also 2600 clutch...........THIS GUY is telling me that i need 550 cc and dont need 2600 then to get 2100 because the other is too much power..PLEASE TELL ME MY SET UP IS GOOD....my goal is only 350HP max....of course the sidemount has got to go but in terms of my turbo...thanks sorry for being too long..any suggestions........

SORRY was kinda confused myself when i was readin that.....lemme try again

I have Evo 16g...In order for me to drive my 2g eclipse GS-T with this turbo being put on....I am going to replace injectors with 510cc from EVO III, replace my fuel pump with WALBRO 255 HP, get an fuel pressure regulator, and a boost controller...2600 kit..... i already have 3in turbo exhaust...boost guage...ngk spark plugs copper, taylor spark plug wires..if any of these even matter?....HOW IS THIS SETUP thanks.....

Sounds pretty good to me, but here is my suggestion...
EVO 3 16g
660 injectors
AFPR
SAFC II or DSMLink
ACT 2600
Manual Boost Controller
255lb pump

Turn boost up to around 18 psi and you will be a quick car. This would be an awsome street set-up that will also be safe. I would recomend DSMLink but you will have to shell out another 700 dollars over the SAFC for it all, but it will give you endless tuning. Oh, and if you don't have one already, get an Injen Intake system or Extreme Motorsports DIS intake.

DSMlink > SAFC :thumb:

Dsmlink isn't that much more when you compare it to most SAFC + logger setups. Of course there is the EPROM cost if you don't have one but then you could always go with ECU+.

with the 255LPH add an AFPR. you may end up being one of those people who don't need it, but better safe than sorry :thumb:

ok thanks EVERYONE FOR THEIR OPINIONS...however...about the DSM link...wow a way bit of money....do i really really need it..this is my daily driver i dont want to kill my car...LOL i dont know if 70 daily driven miles is alot for this car but.....like i said....510cc is what i got...but really 660cc?????what about 550cc???so im gussin 2100 instead of 2600 will do?i plan on gettin electrical boost controller...umm thats it...thanks for all replies again......anything else?

Ive heard for FWD you will want 2100 unless you are going to make the power a 2600 can handle. Plus the 2100 has more play so you can feather it more as with a 2600 it is a lot stiffer and is harder to control?

I wans't saying you need DSMlink. But if you can find a EPROM for cheap its not much more than a logger and a SAFC. Both of which you will need if you go that route.

As for the clutch I have heard the same thing about a 2100 being the better clutch for a FWD, but there are plenty of guys out there with 2600s doing fine.

I wanna do that identical set up on my FWD Talon too cuz I got some 510cc EVO injectors. I was thinkin of goin with a bigt28 though... 510cc injectors isn't enough?

The general consensus is that you'll want 550's or 660's for a 16g. Anything bigger than 450s WILL allow you to run more boost. However it is usually better to run bigger injectors and have a lower injector duty.

Also those of you opposed to DSMlink might check THIS out.

I don't think anyone in their right mind would be "opposed" to DSMLink, they probably just don't have the money for it + the EPROM ECU.

Anyways, if you've got 510cc now and can't get 650s that's fine but don't bother upgrading to 550s down the road. If you're gonna upgrade get the 650/660/680s, which ever you find.

To get the most out of your fuel system, injectors, a tuning device(SAFC or different), pump, and AFPR are recommened. If you have to cut back on the cost, go with a 190 and leave out the AFPR.

If you're not a hardcore track star, the 2100 will be a little more comfterble on the street. basically don't get the 2600 if you're not going to need it, it's just stiffer like everyone said.

Last thing I can think of to limit you (beside the SMIC you mentioned) is the stock bov/uicp, I'm guessing you've got that taken care of :thumb:

i just did close set up , EVO 16G , 550 denso's, rewired 190 FP (dont need FPR), SAFC, 02 dump. Clutch you dont need a 2600 unless you are going to be addig more horses. Denpends on your goals. I went with this cause its a daily driven race car.

Ah, thank you. Which plug wires and spark plugs would be of most use to this settup? I got to replace them anways... :D

for an evo III u'll have plenty of power w/ 510 cc injectors. for sure u'll need a fuel control computer of some sort to go w/ ur injectors and pump but u don't really need the 2600lb clutch. u'll probably end up w/ a broken shifter fork which costs around $700.00 to replace. one of our cars is runnin a 20G setup and right now he's switchin from a 2600 to a 2100.

hey thanks for alllll REPLIES the've helped alot....and with that being said...i've jus change my mind from 2600 to 2100....like i said my GOAL was no more than a MAX OF 350 hp...and yeah i have taken care of UIP and with a 1g bov....i already have an apexi SAFC...was thinkin of supra sidemount so i could go up there in the 300+hp range....and well i guess i am stayin with 510cc instead of upgrading... to 550cc then? ...too late for 190...i jus ordered a 255 from ebay....some people say i dont need AFPR beacuase my power wont be high enough...others say i do? and for the person whom asked for spark plug wires setup....i am runnin NGK plugs with TAYLOR wires....think it was said to be good........THANK YOU for all comments....anymore..... :thumb:

Yep, your plans are sounding good. As for the AFPR issue, it's a matter of controlling fuel pressure rather than just cranking it up. The 255 has been known to over run the stock fuel regulator and cause you to run really rich at idle and at lower rpms. Some people don't need it though so you can take the chance. Another good thing is if you're using those small 510s you can up the fuel pressure a little bit and get more out of them as far as max horse power. I honestly don't think you'll be able to hit 350hp with 510s on stock fuel pressure but you can always upgrade to a AFPR later on down the road or just switch to 650s. Good luck.

PS the supra side mount is a good upgrade too if you can't/don't want to go with a fmic, well worth the 60 bucks or so you'll pay for it. :thumb:
